Malty and hoppy, we at Belhaven love the classic Scottish Ale and we’ve been brewing it longer than any of the other beers we produce. Delivering a sweet, smooth and creamy finish, Scottish Ale has a stunning ruby colour in the glass. Magic.

Thin white head disappears quickly, barely any lacing. Clear dark amber body. Rich malty nose, dark fruits, toffee. Flavour is caramel, earthy hops, spice on the finish. Light carbonation, decent mouthfeel, clean finish. Standard Scottish ale.

helder koper met beperkte getinte kraag aroma is moutig, caramel, met wat noten en aardse tonen. smaken zijn redelijk zoet, zacht, licht bitter, moutig, iets weeïge mouten, caramel, lage co2, matige body, iets simpel. jammer

Can, 5.5% Nitro. Nutty malty caramel, light, bit of raison, bit of citrus floral hop-faint. Not hoppy for American standards but duh, you would expect that. Taste is a caramel, light nut toast malt, bit of fruit raison sweetness, Slight chocolate maybe, slight roast but more nutty malty. Bit of citrus and earth. Smooth. Slight acidic tangy more in the finish. Mild but noticeable bittering with a flat(nitro) sweet taste

12 oz. bottle; I think I got it in some kind of sampler pack, maybe...? Roasty, malty, sweet, little bit of toffee. Wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it, but it’s far from bad.

Light brown or caramel color with a medium white head. Malty caramel and toasty notes on the nose. Malty round palate and smooth finish. Rather insipid and low alcohol. Meh...

Bought as part of a winter mixer pack. Smells malty, sweet and smokey. Pours a brown red colour. Head disappears immediately. Taste is a little sweet, with smokey malts. Good carbonation for an ale. Goes down smooth with no aftertaste. Overall I was very happy with this beer. Would buy it again. MB The Beer "Bear"on

From the nitro can stamped L6125-17:08. As I pop it open the Nitro gas kicks in immediately. I pour it into the glass for a soft, and extremely foamy head over a handsome looking mahogany amber color. No special characters in the aroma. It is clean, sweet, caramel, and malty with a low to no hop profile. Typical for the style. The body is smooth, creamy, and around medium. The taste is sweet but it does not have the peat-moss characteristics typical of the style. Irt does have a lot of caramel malts and maybe some tobacco with a mildly clean finish. Tasty - but not one I would actively seek out.

It pours amber and has excellent clarity. It has a creamy off white head. It has a malty sweet aroma highlighted by the caramel and bread, There are also low flavors of butterscotch and pear. It has dominate flavors of caramel and bread. There are background light notes of butterscotch, pear, and hints of herbal. The balance is towards the malts. It has a moderate body with a creamy feel to the overall presentation, moderate-low bitterness, and moderate-low carbonation. Overall, this is a malt balance ale. It features the caramel and bread with other flavors and aromas in the background.
