bottle, US export version
Malty and hoppy, we at Belhaven love the classic Scottish Ale and weve been brewing it longer than any of the other beers we produce. Delivering a sweet, smooth and creamy finish, Scottish Ale has a stunning ruby colour in the glass. Magic.

330 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, ivory head, with slight lacing, over a clear copper (SRM 14) body......nose is moderate toasted malts, with toffee/caramel notes, light plum, herbal hops, balance to the malts......taste is mildly sweet, with dried fruit notes, plum, raisin, finishing with mild herbal hop bitterness, balance to the malts.......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol. low carbonation. This is a rather light beer. It meets the style with malt dominating the hops, but it is not particularly interesting. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7

PapaVillum (880) - Valby, DENMARK - NOV 24, 2015
---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 33cl. Pours amber red colour with an moderate off-white head. Nutty malty aroma with some caramel, earthness, yeast and fruits to it. Sweety maltness in flavour, nutty creamy biscuits and toffee. Very low bitterness. Smooth and easy drinkable, but forgetable as well.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2016 UPDATE, from 33cl bottle. L: Pours a reddish brown, clear, small off-white head. S: plenty of nutty, earthy malt, some ale yeast mustiness. T: very nice, full-flavoured malt base, tinges of dry fruit, nutty, low sweetness. Straightforward and clean. F: a little lively fizz up front and a warming maltiness across the palate. O: decent traditional style British ale. I love a good malty brew.
