Malty and hoppy, we at Belhaven love the classic Scottish Ale and weve been brewing it longer than any of the other beers we produce. Delivering a sweet, smooth and creamy finish, Scottish Ale has a stunning ruby colour in the glass. Magic.

This beer is nice, but not great. It is a good beer for eating, as it is mild. It has a nutty taste, but I would rather enjoy a brown ale, than the scottish ale. On the other hand it is to be preferred compared to most pils beers

On draught at The Pub (a British looking bar inside Cleveland Hopkins Airport) while waiting for my flight back to Chicago. Coppery pour, creamy off-white head. Nose is malt, piss, wet cardboard and a seawater aroma. Mouth is medium bodied, lightly creamy mouth feel (this was on nitro), mildly bitter, some caramel, grass, nutty notes, toast. Not a great beer by any measure, but easy to drink.

The label was very different from whats pictured here. Very malty, sweet and creamy brew with a nice finish with hints of almond.

330ml bottle. Clear, copper-ish, ruby colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly toasty, malty aroma, fruity notes of red berries, hints of bread crust. Taste is slightly sweet fruity, hints of red berries, slightly toasty, malty background with a slighty bready (Graubrot) touch.

Bottle from B&M, Halifax. Export version at 5.2%. Copper-red with no head. Has a sweetened malty aroma and taste, with hints of grainy-nuttiness in the former.

330ml bottle into pint glass. 5.2%. Very faint malt nose. Copper coloured beer with two finger white head. Medium carbonation. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. A little zingy. A touch of alcohol in the abrupt finish but otherwise super easy drinking. Sweet grainy malty nectar.

First of this style, so not much to compare against. Pours a dark copper from a bottle. Fruity aroma, although I swear when I opened the bottle it kind of smelled like a dog fart. And I dont have a dog. And I didnt fart. Just sayin. Sweet cookie like flavor, big effervescence like a soda. Good beer.

Lovely sweet stout flavour for me. Mm fruity malty and dear area sugar in mouth. For me a lot better than weaker version. Extremely enjoyable and almost got five for palate and that wouldve boosted score . Rich and nutty indeed.bottle poured into bishops finger goblet.
