Bottle. An almost clear one, copper colored and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is quite malty, in a nice way, with some toffee and prunes. Not much hoppyness kicking in. It’s smooth, full-bodied and semi-sweet on the palate, wtih roasted notes, toffee, prunes, raisins and some bitterness in the flavor. Long finish on the malty side, with quite a lot of dried fruits. Decent indeed, but a tad boring I think. 150711 brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 29, 2013
Bottle from California Heights @ home. Pours a light amber color with a white head. Nose is slightly sweet with some caramel, bread, and fruity esters. A touch buttery. The flavor is nothing to write home about either. Bread, caramel, and some butter. Light fruity esters and water. FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 15, 2013
UPDATED: APR 17, 2014 500ml can (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Wooly aroma. Darm orange, widget head - splashed all over my hands as I opened the can - docking it a point for that. Mashy wooly taste, sweet. Bland and dead, but inoffensive.
Rerate: 330ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn) (5:3:5:3:10=2.6)
Same beer. This time it’s a brown bottle rather a can with a widget. Extra point just for that. Still too slimy.
