COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belhaven Scottish Oat Stout is dark, rich and layered, with a wonderful silky texture and a lingering finish. We uses a complex mash including roasted barley and oats along with 3 types of malt to give the beer its trademark depth and complexity: Creating black coffee and dark chocolate notes that make this stout intense yet approachable.

330ml bottle. Pourse black color with tan, creamy head. Wonderfull aroma of oat, chocolate, coffee and dry fruits, with a mild smoked notes. Moderate carbonation and very nice oily, creamy palate. Tastes slightly sweet at the begging, continues a bit bitter and dry and finishes with dark chocolate flavor. Full body. Very well balanced beer.

Bottle from Yamaya. Nose is chocolate, milk, berries, light roast or cafe au lait. Touch of soy sauce as well. Shiny, pitch black with a low tan head. Mildly sweet, dark chocolate, roasted charcoal, coffee, touch of soy. Rich flavor, light fruits as well. Body is somewhat light, almost thin. Roasty, slightly bitter finish. Reasonably good.

Ligeramente dulce. Final ligeramente amargo y algo licoroso.

vinivini (3247) - Gomel, BELARUS - JAN 29, 2018
Bottled. Deep brown to black colour. Dmall head of beige. Aroma: robust roast, coffee, chocolate, a metallic hint. Medium minus body. Silky palate. The taste has that regular sweet stout sweetness that is not over the top. Roast, dried fruit, chocolate, coffee. Just enough hops to reach balance. It tastes well, no question.

5th one from the Christmas 6-pack, so far this brewery is hitting all the right place. Sweet and crisp taste, easy going, not too strong, very tasteful.

Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from the LCBO part of the winter mixer pack. Consumed: cellared beer for 1 year, drank from a pilsner glass Aroma: Smells burnt and smokey and sweet. Appearance : filtered dark brown colour with decent head that disappears within the first few sips. No lacing, which was strange. Taste: VERY sweet and sugary, smokey, with just a bit of hop bitterness. Palate : heavy body. Bittersweet aftertaste. Next to no carbonation. Overall: A little too sweet, yet still enjoyable. Quality ingredients. I was glad to try another brewer but will not buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Delicious stout that was a bit of a departure from the usual Belhaven oak flavour. Small head when poured and nice malt tones.
