Tap, nitrogen charged. Heavy malt aromas of toasted and dark chocolate, light citrus and earth for the hopa and yeast. Head is huge, super dense and creamy, off-white with excellent thick lacing, covering almost 100% of the glass, and is fully lasting. Color is black. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately bittersweet. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy and has a soft carbonation. A pretty good Stout, thick and rich, and full of taste. deyholla (11609) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 10, 2009
On tap at Three Floyds. Poured black with a thick brown head. Aroma consisted of sweet roasted chocolate notes. Started sweet, but roasted chocolate notes, a bit overwhelming. Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 25, 2009
Black. What’d you expect? Very rich, very smooth, lots of rich chocolate and coffee, maybe some vanilla and caramel, too. Very milky, and slightly sweet. Nice stuff. User29624 (1683) - - JUL 19, 2009
On tap @ FFF. Pours black with a thick tan head. Mild aroma, little chocolate. I thought it had heavy chocolate malt in the flavor and was smooth. Decent brew. leems (406) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 10, 2009
On tap @ Horse Brass, pours black with a medium off white head. Nose is caramel and maple. Flavor is roasted malt, nutty, maybe some vanilla. Overall fairly bland and boring. The palate was silky smooth. Maybe a different day a better score, but this beer bored me.

Cask 0.25L glass at Kittys. Nice creamy head. 12mm. Dark reddish black colour. Mild syropy nose. Soft taste. Well balanced. Mild hoppiness. Not sour not too sweet but malty. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 3, 2009
On tap at WBF in Raleigh. Pours very similar to Guinness: dark ruby with a nitro cream head. Good lacing (nitro though). Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malt and coffee grinds. Taste is Guinness brown sugar, caramel, and and Irish Cream. Creamy body. Slight metallic aftertaste. Not bad. Soonah (1120) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - APR 29, 2009
The pour was ultra-dark brown, almost black. A short tan to brown head formed and there was a little spot of lacing here and there. The aroma was chocolate, boozy, caramel and brown sugar. The flavor was chocolate and booze mostly with some roasted malt and caramel thrown in. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. Rich. Cavie (4718) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 29, 2009
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2010 So dark that I can’t see through it. Creamy head that never goes away. Stout smell, cocoa and roasted nuts. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel; a coating beer. Roasted caramel flavor, with a nice finish. No lingering bitterness. Quite good. Quite. 4.5
RE-RATE 10/9/10 On tap at Overtime sports bar. I’m rating this with a stuffed up nose. Yay. Solid black appearance with a brown upwards cascading head. Aroma is dusty and cocoa. Flavor is nitro savory. Chemical and lightly roasted. Finish is dry but maintains a wet mouthfeel. Dry in bitterness.
