capoccetta (171) - roma, ITALY - FEB 26, 2010

(nitro draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Dark black pour with a creamy tan head. Aroma is very heavily roasted malts and some cocoa and cream. Some coffee perhaps? Flavor is a nice dry stout base but not as bitter as some. Some chocolate and cocoa sweetness add a very nice creamy texture to the body and make it quite easy to drink. Thick like a milkshake and pretty tasty.

taphandle (1135) - Texas, USA - DEC 30, 2009
On a nitrogen tap. Being on nitro, the head and look of the beer was great. The taste seemed very slightly sour with the taste of dark cherries. It was a nice final beer for my tasting.

The beer is not bad, but they are only a group of thieves. I’m sorry but I’m forced to make this rate.

Dark brown color, good creamy beige head, lace. Sticky balsamico aroma with caramelly notes. Quite light body. Caramelly, some cocoa and vinegar notes. Tap was probably a bit unclean. Some chocolaty notes in the aftertaste. Quite useless brew.

Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - OCT 25, 2009
Black with white head, slight smell of burnt nothingness. Flavor of pool water. Not very flavorful or filling, just and a quick beer to down, like a Guinness. Tap at The Pub in Naples, Florida.

This beer is fantastic. When poured you have to wait about a minute for the head to form up. Watching the beer form up is a real treat. Poetry in motion. Very creamy khaki colored head that stays with the beer until the last drink. The texture of this beer is the real treat. Silky, caressing feel on the palate with a feel feel like true love. Strong coffee and roasted malt on the forground of this beer. Finishes clean and dry with a slight bitterness. I love this beer.

travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 16, 2009
Tap at the Gingerman in Ft. Worth. Nitro tap. Nice creamy tan colored head. Black dark color. The smell is roasty, coffee, chocolate, and malts. The taste is very roasty, malts, some bitterness, coffee, and chocolate.

Svesse (8952) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 4, 2009
(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 26 Sep 2009) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of creamy chocolate and light hints of ashes. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee and cream. Medium body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Some coffee bitterness in a dry finish. Tasty and well balanced. Solid stout.

Belhaven: superior stout. Guinness:superior marketing. This is fantastic, will a truly developed palate. I’m honestly surprised it’s not rating higher.
