A full-bodied and malty ale with a rounded, smooth fruit palate and a tight, creamy head that laces all the way down the glass. Rich in colour with a smooth, creamy texture and a distinctively strong flavour.

Nice full flavored beer. Smooth and really Scottish. Pretty malty as well. A nice ale.

I didn't really like this one. I didn't find any flavour that stood out, just a bland flat lightly peaty malt flavour, short finish, and generally uninteresting, little hops to speak of, but i suppose these scottish ales lean more towards the malt.

A very nice tasting beer. I'm surprised it's rated so low..........

This beer came in a bottle that had more beer than I could easily finish because of the taste. It was not bad, but I didn't enjoy it.

OKBeer (1171) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - MAR 23, 2003
Aroma is straight spicy hops. Nice golden copper hue, with a thick off-white head. Lots of spice and bitterness in the taste, with a touch a caramel. Smooth and easy to drink.

Not bad, but something I won't try again. Had a few light chocolatey flavors. Pretty sweet and malty. Don't bother.

Ok Scottish Ale. Malty and smokey flavor. Finishes thin and mild for a Scottish ale.

estoppel (1028) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAR 5, 2003
Light amber, medium off-white head, sweet malty nose with fruity notes. Mostly fruity flavor with a hint of smoke, but not much. The fruit seems a touch overripe. Fairly sweet. Nothing special.

Copper color, light head, caramel and candylike aroma. Nice mix of caramel and hops.

Yankovitch333 (612) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 25, 2003
Nice amber color with a creamy head that doesn't last. Aroma is slightly maltly. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. This would be a good beer to wash down a cheeseburger and french fries.
