Belhaven Brewery’s flagship American-style IPA. A bold but refreshing ale using pale malt to provide sweetness and a little Crystal malt for extra toffee and a touch of astringency. Challenger provides clean bitterness and an underlying herbal hoppyness. Hersbrucker adds a little fruit, spiciness and floral character and Cascade as the late hop adds masses of grapefruit citrus aroma and taste and floral fragrance. All three hops contribute to the bold bitterness and satisfying finish as well as the huge “hop store” aroma.
Ingredients: Pale malt, Cascade, Hersbrucker and Challenger hops.

A good IPA. Not too much perfume, but it’s ok. The beer has a nice exciting flavor. Fresh and moderately bitter finish.

Bottle. Medium white head on a clear amber body. Nice, tart citric aroma, resin, a bit floral and perfumey, light nail polish remover. Starts out tart, with light sweetness, just a little bitterness. Slick, soft medium body with lively carbonation. Surprisingly nice!

Bottle from the LCBO. Crystal clear medium gold with a small short lived white head. Nose is toffee and bread with a light overlay of grass, citrus and some floral notes. Flavour is light+ toffee sweetness with a medium- grass and pineapple bitterness and a light spice near the end.. Mouth is medium- and slick with slightly soft carbonation and a quick finish. Just OK 6/3/6-/3/11

Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from a fall mixer pack from the LCBO Consumed: from a pilsner glass Aroma: Smells hoppy. Not much else there. Appearance : filtered pale medium gold with lots of head thatdisappears immediately to no lacing. Taste: a little bitter for my liking. Not much malt or sweet flavour. Very bland other then the hops. Palate : light to medium body. Bitter with a slight sweet aftertaste. Low carbonation. Overall: It was laking flavour. Too bland, other then hops. Kind of what I expected from an IPA. But as IPA's go, this wasn't bad. Most are so bitter and sour that you have to put them down. I was glad to try but will not buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Couleur ambrée; mousse blanche; arômes et goût maltés et fruités (pas assez pour une IPA); finale moyennement amère

Frothy white head on a translucent, still golden body. Minimal aroma of...... not much. Medium bodied, airy on the palate & a tingle on the back. well balanced with dark stone fruit, lemon, grapefruit & malt hints. Not to bad.

kociol21 (23) - brak, POLAND - AUG 27, 2017
Kolor ciemnozłoty, piana niska, momentalnie zanika. W aromacie miód, akcenty kwiatowe i nuta czerwonych owoców. Wysycenie dosyć wysokie, piwo raczej wodniste. Smak zdominowany przez karmelowo-miodową słodycz, ślad owoców. Wyczuwalny rozgrzewający w gardle alkohol. Goryczka niska i krótka. Nic ciekawego
