Decent brew. Not my favorite style, but a nice change from the over-hopped west coast stuff around my area. Beautiful clear dull redish brown color. Head stays beady till the end.

Deep amber on the pour with a consistent off white head. Aromas of port wine, roastedness, breads, and a slight touch of citrus. Fairly thick consistancy with flavors of roasted malts balanced with some hops, day old coffee, and a smokey finish. This beer left a wonderful looking lacing on the glass.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2008 From the bottle it poured a brownish/red with a slight head. A fruit and spice aroma led to a caramel sweet tast that finished with a warming alc and a nutty finish.

A hazy, dark mahogany/brown with an average tan head. Citrusy-sour aromas of apple with mild notes of coffee and scotch. Did not expect the overwhelming sugary-sweetness as I took a swig. Caramel flavors and a syrupy finish. Felt like I was drinking hard liquor... or a Jack and Coke. Too sweet.

Dark brown under a thick khaki head and a good amount of lacing. Slightly smokey aroma with roasted malt and coffee. Flavor followed the aroma but with the roasted malt taking the lead role well supported by bittersweet chocolate and dark coffee with just enough hop bitterness to make all of the flavors play nice together. Long, silky finish with a little warming alcohol and a spicy kick. If you can find this locally, dont pass it up.

Hasnt been my top designated style, but I like this a lot . . . some kind of relation to McEwans and Harviestoun Old Engine Oil, both of which I like. Beautiful creamy head, not much aroma (but quite nice, what there is), smoky flavor, beautiful head, appearance like a creamy doppelbock, substantive and creamy body, great head, creamy lacing, very pleasing. Wullium Wulluce wuld approuve.

A dark amber brown body with malty aroma. Sweet palate with malts and toast. Good body and finishes lightly sweet.

500 ml bottle. pours nice dark brown with reddish hue and good foam. familiar belhaven aromas, bready and fruity. rich flavors of fruitiness, malt, caramel, sweetness, balanced bitterness and a gentle roastedness. reasonable carbonation, soft mouthfeel, quite pleasurable. amazing they do a few of the same style and maintain high quality, individuality and consistency.
