A moderate amount of malt sweetness on the aroma with light notes of fruitless. A crystal clear dark Amber appearance with an offwhite head with below average head retention. Flavor is malt forward with notes of biscuit, toast and dark caramel. Fruity esters are moderately high. Finish is dry. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation. Overall, it's labeled as a wee heavy and a 90 schilling, but it's definitely not a wee heavy. It's a 90 schilling. It also has a little too much toast flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Toffee malty aroma. No hops on the nose. Appearance is a deep amber with a long lasting white head. Crystal clear. Flavor is heavy on kettle caramelized toffee notes. No hop flavor or esters. Mouthfeel is smooth and full with medium a carbonation. Overall, a classic wee heavy, but the malt flavor is one dimensional. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. 7.4%. Best before 06.18. Pours a clear, deep amber/brown, with a light tan head. Bit of lacing. Sweetish, malty aroma with light hops in the background. Dark fruit note as it warms. Hint of bread as well. Flavour is sweet and malty, with dark fruits; hint of raisin. Light hops in the background. Hint of bread as it warms. Sweet and a bit tart finish. More dark fruits, and a mild alcohol burn. Overall nice, well-balanced. 22.05.17.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is sticky malt, strong caramel toffee, brown sugar, touch of dried dark fruits including figs. Flavour is quite sweet and light bitter. Body is medium with a sticky mouthfeel. A bit too heavy on the sticky sweetness for my taste.

Aroma: Caramel with an alcoholic touch. Appearance: Dark brown color with clear liquid and white head. Taste: Medium sweetness. Palate: Full body with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Long sweet finish. Overall: Even with the strong abv, it doesn’t leave an alcoholic feeling. Very sweet but it is not killing the feeling of beer.

Deep sexy veiled dark copper color, ruby hue, with very low activity. Creamy light brown 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with poor legs. Flavors of Worcestershire sauce, dark grains, prunes, dark berries, honey, molasses, oysters, soft walnuts, herbal spices. Dense toffee sweetness, with an almost sour spicy smoked feel. Creamy full body with soft crispy carbonation. Strong strength finish, thick dark ester fruits, soft liquorice and leather, a bit of oak and vanilla. Thick on the tongue but ends up clean. Amazing use of the Worcestershire sauce, not too intense and a proper theme to the region, providing us a unique aroma. Good intensity and nice complexity. Slightly dry with kind of a port feel crossed with mead, yet very fresh, although extremely boozy and warming. It’s a good taste but not necessarily pleasant. Quite bold and acidic. Overall very good quality craft.
