4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a damn good beer. Frothy copper. Very well balanced. Tons of flavor for 6.5% alcohol. Toffee, sour fruit, moderately bitter hops, and spicy clove-like flavors.
Clear chestnut colour with a beige head. Aroma is brown sugar, nutts, toffee and some notes of dried fruit. Taste is sweet with raisin and other dried fruits and with a nice alcohol finish. Subliminal64 (214) - London, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 21, 2017
Where Purchased: 347ml bottle part of a winter mixer pack from LCBO
Consumed: from a chalice
Aroma: sweet and malty with a medium yeast smell
Appearance : filtered dark ruby brown with lots of head that disappears immediately. No lacing.
Taste: very sweet and malty. No hops to been seen.
Palate : medium body. Very sweet aftertaste. Good carbonation.
Overall: It was very sweet. Malts are present, but the sweetness overules. Also, the alcohol hits like a freight train (even though its on;y 7.4% ABV). I was glad to try and would buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Неплохой Шотландский эль. Чувствуется вкус карамели. Пиво достаточно карбонизированно . К ужину стоит попробовать. snoworsummer (5962) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 4, 2017

330ml bottle. Pours clear and a lovely dark chestnut colour with a thin beige head. On the nose toasted hazelnuts, toffee, burnt sugar, and light cocoa. Sweet, with lots of dried fruit. Raisin, dates, molasses underneath, light alcohol, faint earthiness, and mineral notes that head into more pronounced sticky dried fruit notes, treacle, licorice, with faint bitterness and mineral notes in the finish. Oooh. I like this a lot. This beer is a treat.
