Sweet fruity snd coffee aroma. Sweet with an oat like dryness on the palate, plenty of fruit. Dry roasted coffee and chocolate in the finish. Nexxus (261) - Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA - OCT 26, 2003
chocolate roasty aroma, with a hint of sweetness. Pours black with a thin transient head. Yech, this is one sweet beer. It tastes almost like someone poured a bunch of martini rosso vermouth in the trumpeters stout. The initial flavor isn't too bad, its the extremely sweet aftertaste that gets to me. UPDATED: APR 23, 2004 ReRate-2002 bottle-man, i took 3 sips of this puppy and coudn't stand it. terribly sour the whole way through. i dont know if it just didnt age well or what, but this is bad
Now this is unique. It matches its name. Dark color with a pleasent aroma. The sweet added flavor is something new and different in a good way. If you want a unique stout then this is for you. lemonlovr (191) - Orland Park, Illinois, USA - OCT 7, 2003
Had this at the Dallas tasting a while back. Wasn't a very good rater back then but I did take notes, and here they are. "Definite mocha smell with an odd cherry-like taste. Dark brown color, bad aftertaste." I know, really detailed. Sorry! I've gotten better... legion242 (2348) - Richardson, Texas, USA - SEP 29, 2003
Black, black; Fleeting head; Burnt ashtray nose. WOW! Sour to a fault- though I am assured that there is nothing wrong with the bottle. Not appealing to me at all.

Sweet is right. Pours a dark, appropriately stout-like color. Head doesn't last long. Very malty flavor, very little hops come through. Dark, satisfying, but too sweet for my liking. Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - SEP 17, 2003
Very nice dark color, the head was small and i've been patiently waiting for this brew to warm up some.Malty, caramel aroma with a nice sweet side to it and a mild hint of alcohol. The taste is roasty and mild chocolate with an almost sour side to it.It might be the last lager i had but i think i cleaned my palate enough to counter that.Ahhhhhh it was the palate not clean enough the way it seems,it still is sour but not as hard core with the flavor definately sweetening with a nice chocolate sweet taste in the after taste.Very smooth feel almost creamy, this is a very nice brew and was a nice find at $1.20/bottle.I'm glad Blue Max had a Bargain Basement cart set up. Bottle. WTF, this stuff only gets a 3.48?? This was my highlight beer of the August 2003 tasting in Dallas. It was like an Expedition Stout, but with the infusion of grapes, strawberries, chocolate mousse, and milk chocolate. Incredible and mouth-watering from start to finish. Here's to Suzy, the first girlfriend I ever had... adwoan99 (305) - Ft. Worth, Texas, USA - AUG 18, 2003
This beer is very dark brown, opaque - no head. I smell cherries, and sweet dark chocolate. Flavour matches the aroma - I'm sure this sweet beer was named for a very sweet young lady. 3fourths (9386) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 17, 2003
Musty smell of roasted malts. Thick, sweet cherries, olives, wood and cream flavors. Very flavorful, but ultimately too sweet and sticky for my personal tastes.
