Amber lager with a thin off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with fruity pear notes. Fairly clean malt taste with nice nuttyness, and nice lingering german hops in finish. Medium bodied. Considering this is 9 month olds, it is quite a resilient beer!

pours med-dark golden, orange tint, with a small white head, good retention and lacing. some toasted and caramel malts, fruity, hint of sweetness, still a dry and short finish. light hopping (much more than expected) - herbal and slightly citrusy. slightly weak malt structure. average carbonation, light body. high drinkability. probably the best of the "regular" belle gueule line.

(Rating #4931)

Bottle (341ml). Via trade with my good Montréal friend Viper666. Poured clear pale gold, very small frothy white head. Typical grainy, horse-sweat-y pale lager aroma, a little stale and vegetal with honeyish overtones. Tastes the same - somewhat harsh, papery and stale in the finish, seems stronger than 5.2% somehow. Watery body, harshly fizzy mouthfeel, gritty, bitter/stale aftertaste - ehh, pretty much like all the other B-Gs - maybe a little more assertive, but is that a GOOD thing?

This is another seasonnal beer from Brasserie RJ. This is actually a winter lager. Pourred a light colored brew with a medium head. The taste is quite light with a nice sweet aftertaste. I would have expected a stronger brew since this is a winter seasonal beer but overall it is not too bad.

Caramel malt balances nicely with lightly spicy hops in the nose. Clear golden-copper with decent and lasting, pillowy, white head. Some lacing. Light sweet caramel malts balance well with spicy hop flavour and decent balancing bitterness. Medium-light body and strong, effervescent carbonation. Sure, it’s pretty conservative for a winter seasonal and doesn’t exactly push the envelope, but really, for a pale lager, it’s fairly good. Bottle.

Eructoblaster (4302) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 29, 2004
Nice pale amber body topped with an average off-white frothy head. Malty/hoppy aroma with bready notes (smells like a polish lager). Taste is unexciting without being bad: it is well-balanced but lacks strenght and complexity. Above all, it is characterized with an agressive carbonation. Leaves a short bitter aftertaste. This has nothing to do with winter beer.

mathieuc (4000) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 17, 2015
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2015 Pours a strong golden with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of husky grains and that’s about it. Taste is of cereals, husk and fruits and completely dry. Not too bitter. Body is light to medium and carbonation medium-high. Mouthfeel is slightly watery. Overall it is nothing much.
