Scopey (14766) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2011
1992 vintage at the 20th Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. It pours hazy dark yellow/amber, with moderate carbonation and a thin fizzy white head. The nose is clove rock, light floral, light smoke, wood, varnish, barbeque, HP sauce, soy sauce, tamarind and farmyard. The taste is wood, sour lemon and lots of sour berry: redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, red apple and blackberry, with a dry-tart finish. There is some pleasant alcohol warmth, low oxidation and high acidity in the finish. This has truly stood the test of time, the complexity and flavours are amazing and yet it is so drinkable. I reckon I could polish a whole bottle of this off myself. djd07 (14558) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 9, 2015
1999 bottle thanks to Craig. Pours a cloudy orange gold with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong wood, funk, rubber, lemon. Medium mouth, great funk, grape, wood, light tartness, held up very well, really enjoyed this one. HenrikSoegaard (14176) - Randers, DENMARK - SEP 29, 2007

(RBSG2003): Murky amber body with virtually no head. Aroma is tart, barnyard, slightly fruity. Taste is TART -- from opening through the swallow. Oh my goodness that's tart! Medium acidic body. Christian (13670) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 10, 2009
1993 bottle at WSF 2009: Cloudy orange with a small white head. Funky fruit, wood and leather aroma, covered in a dusty and earthy blanket. Dry and tart dusty old flavour.

1999 bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke: Funky leather, citrus and balsamic aroma. Very acidic, almost too sharp. Complex funky and balsamic character.
1999 vintage Bottle shared at Grote Dorst. Pours clear dark golden with a small white head. Aroma is big funky, musty cellar, fruity. Flavour is really heavy acidic, maybe a little too much. Unfortunately when trying this I was feeling a little worse for ware after a massive beer tasting in Brussels the night before. After enjoying a small amount this fine vintage whale, said whale proceeded to violently exit my body in a blend of old lambic and stomach acid. On the bright side, I got to enjoy it twice! bierkoning (13355) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - OCT 24, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2009 Vintage 99. Aroma has pear, lemon, lychee and oak. Very sour flavor with pear, yoghurt, fresh cheese, lemon. This geuze is amazingly fruity, and, in spite of the mouthpuckering sourness, softer than you might expect. I understand now why Belle Vue hides this beer from the crowd. If they get to know this beer nobody buys their normal crap.
Another tasting @ the RBESG in Sheffield showed that this beer has mellowed down a bit over the years and has further gained in complexity. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 31, 2007
(750ml Bottle, 1999 vintage) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a spare ring of white bubbles. A complex gueuze aroma of grapefruit, lemon, vinegar, apple, earthiness, musty, and white grapes. The flavor smacks you in the face with the intensity of the tartness that after once taste makes your taste buds stand up for attention like basic training solders for their drill sergeant. The tartness lingers even after several minutes in between sips allowing you to savor the magical experience endured. An absolutely fantastic brew at a unbelievable tasting that I will certainly not forget. thewolf (12599) - Kolding, DENMARK - SEP 15, 2008

Pours muddy orange with no head. Aroma is tart, oranges, ginger, oak, apple, peach and a good degree of vinegar. Low carbonation, good oily mouthfeel. Super flavour, good oranges, geat tartness and dryness. Good oak with peach and apple. Good, but just a tad too much vinegar that gives a light burning feel in my throat.
750ml bottle shared courtesy of Axilla (thanks!). 1999 vintage. Bottle # 06660. Poured a dark and cloudy golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of caramel, brett, musty, leather, citrus, and wood. Tastes of green apples, citrus, wood, and sour lemons. Nice pucker factor. You have to love a beer that when you lick your lips a minute later, it still makes you pucker! This one was fantastic. Everything I would want in a Gueuze!
