Bottle from the craft beer advent calendar given to me by Jill. Cheers! Pours hazy golden with a thin white head. Bready yeast aroma. The taste has banana and dough. OK.

Bottle from M&S. Not keen on this style at all. The only thing that warrants a mention re this quite nondeScript beer is my wife thinks it's rather spiffing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Allure de blonde pin up classique.

This is a great lager style beer, with a lot of character: flavorful but refreshing.

330ml bottle from The Water House (JDW), Durham, £2.49. Pours golden amber with a huge, loose, foamy, white head powered by lively carbonation. The nose is quiet but sweet, wheaty character with pleasant hints of banana can be found. The taste is largely sweet but there’s a pleasant crispness to the finish making it simultaneously refreshing and leaving you wanting more. There’s plenty of fruitiness, particularly lychee and melon, to it. It’s incredibly drinkable at 6.5% and as far as I’m concerned just about a definitive French blonde. A slight criticism would be that the sweetness risks getting sickly and cloying but I did drink it in a hurry.
