Au Bellerose en pression. Nez léger d’agrumes et de houblon. Sucrée en bouche mais pas écoeurant. Long palais avec légère amertume et carbo. Une belle réussite.

This is a great lager style beer, with a lot of character: flavorful but refreshing.

Vighals (3977) - Sørumsand, NORWAY - MAR 22, 2016
Lys brun klar med høyt tett hvitt skum. Lukter hvete og krydder, koreanserfrø og pepper. Pepperig også i smak, hvete og noe gjær. Middels fylde. Pepperig og noe bitter avsluttning.

330ml bottle from The Water House (JDW), Durham, £2.49. Pours golden amber with a huge, loose, foamy, white head powered by lively carbonation. The nose is quiet but sweet, wheaty character with pleasant hints of banana can be found. The taste is largely sweet but there’s a pleasant crispness to the finish making it simultaneously refreshing and leaving you wanting more. There’s plenty of fruitiness, particularly lychee and melon, to it. It’s incredibly drinkable at 6.5% and as far as I’m concerned just about a definitive French blonde. A slight criticism would be that the sweetness risks getting sickly and cloying but I did drink it in a hurry.

Bottle from Bains Wines, Netherton. Golden orange beer with medium head. Aroma is yeast, lemony and malts. Taste is malts, yeast, strawberry and some light citrus. Soft palate, balanced carbonation. Very good.

ALLOVATE (3014) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 25, 2016
Actor Gérard Depardieu’s flagship - quite chuffed about this one!
Into a snifter at just on chilled. Bright, sunny gold with a loose, fluffy white head that manages a little lace. Papaya and mango dominated nose with inklings of starburst fruit chews, Chenin Blanc grapes and mint with a touch of bready yeast. Quite light, almost delicate on the palate. A soft spritz kicks it off heightening some supple tropical fruit esters. Nuances of pear drops, strawberry, vanillin and rose water musk make it interesting. It finishes just as soft and delicate, fading off quickly with light floral notes dissipating. Body is lean so it drinks easily. Found as it warms there is not to differ from the chilled product so best consumed cold. Holds the 6.5% at bay well. I loved it for its restraint. Deadly sessionable stuff! Skinnyviking (9569) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 16, 2016
75 cl. champagne cork bottle. High and lasting white fluffy head. Clear yellow golden body. Powerful sweet and astonishing banana apple pear aroma. Sweet honey dominates the fruity flavor of apples and pears with a nice hops bitterness, low cafbonation and a long sweet finish. Very well balanced and quite a surprise. On top of it the relatively high alcohol level is very well hidden. Lovely.

Goldgelb schäum ok, Geruch hopfig leicht litschi, Geschmack recht frisch leicht fruchtig
