After the positive reactions of our customers toward Bellerose Biere Blonde Extra, we have brewed this special version. It has a ruby colour and undergoes generous hopping (It is Christmas !) to obtain even more surprising flavours. Completed with festive dry hopping Bellerose de Noël makes a true gift, a biere ruby EXTRA.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 12/20

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours lively copper red into the glass with a fine white head that settles to a nice inviting veil. The nose is caramel and dried fruit. All very cristmassy indeeed so far. The taste is sweetish, more of the same as the nose, like a sunday fruit cake. A tad too sweet. It is also very light in the mouth, so there’s not much more than pilsener malt and crystal malt in the bill. But the hops is backing up nicely and so it isn’t all unbalanced. A lovely x-mas beer if you ask me.

Copenhagen 21/12 2017. 75 cl bottle from Skjold Burne. Lightly clad female Christmas Elf on the label. Very tasteful. Pours clear amber with big white head. Settles as thin patchy layer of foam. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Figs, dates, plums with a tart touch. Medium to strong carbonation and thin watery palate. Flavor is quite sweet but partly balanced by fruity tartness. Aftertaste is sugar drenched citrus. A Christmas beer on the sweet side with no signs of the "generous hopping" announced on the label. Becomes a bit cloying after the first 60 cl. By the way - kind of strange classification as Spice/Herb/Vegetable.

Der er noget græs over den i første slurk, dernæst går den over i noget sødme, lys banan og en anelse gærsmag. Eftersmagen har den klassiske belgiske sødme

Bottle from Grocery Outlet. Hazy orange with some traces of red. A lot of sediment floating around. Sweet candy-like nose. Some floral qualities as well. Lightly sweet with some ginger notes. Fairly malty with a little bit of a hop taste to it. A bit of spice throughout. Sippable, but fairly boring.

Bottle with Christmas dinner. Not what I was hoping for. Non too complex, quite basic medicinal flavoured Belgian ale.

Turtles (3087) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 23, 2015
750ml bottle from Systembolaget. Almost clear amber, good lacing white head. Sweet, spicey and nutty aroma. Sweet smooth mouthfeel. Sweet, fruity and herbal taste, red apples, clove, honey, yeast, white pepper and ginger bread dough.

axl (1111) - Lund, SWEDEN - DEC 22, 2015
750ml bottle. Clear shiny brown with small beige head. Bready aroma with dried fruits, figs, raisins, plums and a touch of alcohol. Taste is herbal with dried fruits, figs, dried plums, raisins and a slightly medicine-like finish. Medium, mouthfeel, medium carbonation and a touch of salty liqorice and mint in the aftertaste.

LLaurin (550) - Motala, SWEDEN - NOV 24, 2015
Slightly red with a small head. Light Christmas taste and some herbs and spices. Taste short and palate diminishing and vague. Not my Xmas beer. But still not bad at a all.

TEJA (3344) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 24, 2015
Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. Rather short head. Clear red-amber color beer. Dry spicy aroma. Spicy taste with a low sweetness and some caramell and a small bitterness.
