Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks tderoeck. Murky brown and ugly. Malt, cold coffee, mud and some roast in the nose, Roasty, malty, coffee and soft bitterness in the mouth. Medium-to-full body, roasty finish.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. A couple of years past BBD. Appearance - deep brown/black with a nice head. Nose - treacle, a bit of a sour apple on the top. Taste - treacle again, dry blackberry, toffee, dry smoky charcoal thing. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a tangy dry finish. Overall - a very interesting beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Cloudy brown. Aroma of malt, caramel, some roast, cardboard, dark fruits compote. Sweet flavor with cardboard, a bit of caramel, fruitiness, and a bitterish roasty finish. Medium-bodied. 2 months before BBD but already feels too old.

blackisle (2814) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - APR 10, 2015
Bottle 33cl. Opaque dark brown, small loose frothy tan head, mostly diminishing, no lacing; aroma roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, dried dark fruits, licorice; taste light to medium bittersweet, roasted malts; medium body, oily texture, flat carbonation, aftertaste dry roasted bitter, chocolate, earthy undertones; difficult to categorize but I think stout would be the best, anayway a very nice dark beer.

hohops (1096) - Kent, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2015
Appearance is very dark, almost black, with a big beige frothy head. Aroma of dark fruit, coffee, milk chocolate. Taste is cocoa, dark fruit undertones, milk chocolate, with a short finish. Pretty good.

rikstar (2607) - NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2015
0,33l fles gedeeld met Johnny B. Zwart met crème schuim. Geur is zoet met een beetje mout. Smaak beetje cacao en gist. Tikkeltje waterig.

JefVerstraete (3635) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - APR 1, 2015
Bottle @ home. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Soft carbonation. Dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel and plums. Sweet and light bitter. Ok beer.

Ysok02 (1827) - Mons, BELGIUM - MAR 16, 2015
