McWorta (1627) - LUXEMBOURG - MAR 15, 2015
Copper-brown ruby-red with a frothy dark white medium head. Aromas of toast, resin, traces of raisin, with hints of wet earth, nuts and light herbs. Some livelyness opens to a thin-slick texture and a medium body. Light resinous herbal toasted-malt sweetness with a light astringent bitterness which is building up. Medium lasting light sticky finish.

jspronck (159) - BELGIUM - JAN 17, 2015
Deep brown color with tall beige head, aromas of dark chocolate and plums, good carbonation, oily texture, chocolate finish, not bad but lacks something

LaViolette (115) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JAN 5, 2015
Nice classic Belgian beer. Beautiful dark brown colour. Interesting earthy and metallic nose with hints of licorice. Palate is a bit weak compared to the nose but it is nice. Carbonation is almost flat which makes it tastes a bit more British than Belgian in a way!

Theydon_Bois (19778) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 20, 2014
Bottle at Cafe Rose Red, Brugge, 17/10/14. Light black with a good sized faded tan covering. Nose is earthy, dark malts, spice, cocoa rub. Taste comprises light roast, bitter cocoa powder, toffee, spice, dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok offering.

3.3
Borresteijn (7271) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 3, 2014
33cl Bottle from Prik&Tik Pauwels. Deep dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of a dry stout, coffee and cream, not sweet, dry, liquorice, hint of plums in the back. Flavour of dark fruits, hard-roasted malts, coffee and cream, some caramel, quite dry, bitter, coffee, light earthy. Light-bodied, firm carbonation. A dry stout imho, reminded me of some of the Guinness variations (e.g. Indonesian), just a bit sweeter.

Alengrin (5438) - BELGIUM - AUG 6, 2014
Winter ale with off-white, creamy but not very thick foam and very dark ruby brown colour, near black. Aroma of raisins, coffee with milk, cacao powder, cinnamon, pepper, dates, toast, sherry. Taste a rounded, supple maltiness, candied fruits, faintly sweetish, bit yeasty, evolving into a full roasted bitterness that lasts long and hides the hops a bit, mouthfeel rather thin. Apparently a tribute to Theakston’s Old Peculier but the roasted bitterness makes it more of a dry stout or even a porter than any type of real English ale in my opinion.

mikske79 (1668) - Puerto Plata, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - AUG 6, 2014
Niet veel smaak aan, een tegenvaller van formaat, net als het blonde biertje. Jammer.

3.3
prawlie (1611) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 14, 2014
Bottle from Brussels. Black with a slight bubbly head. Roasty, lightly bitter, with a pleasant dark malt aftertaste. Light and chocolatey. Gentle chocolate roast aroma with a hint of spice.

3.2
ClaudeB04 (405) - Dudelange, LUXEMBOURG - JUL 6, 2014
Bottle, small head, dark colour, reveals a lot of flavours if you don’t drink it too cold.
