4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This brown ale is fantastic for a moderately priced pick-up. Almost no beers that can be commonly found in the grocery store (in Michigan) can be compared, and it is a great beer to introduce to non-beer lovers.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The color is a deep rust red that darkens toward the top. Nose is sweet with fruit accents of apple and pear that gives way to a nice caramel finish. The medium-bodied ale has a sweet flavor that manages to be remarkably smooth and rich. A very good amber that brings depth to an often one-note style.

12oz - Packaged on June 23, 2005 - Aroma is malty, carmel and a touch of hops. Pours a cloudy amber with a medium head and great lasting lacing. The best looking amber Iíve seen. Flavor is subtle hop followed by a smooth carmel malt back. Palate is smooth and clean. Always been one of my favorite session brews and always will be.

Amber & Pizza Night. Hazy orange. Aroma of lush fruit, sweet caramel and honey. Subtle taste with amazing balance and a light finish. Creamy fruits & caramel. Medium body thatís very smooth with fine, light carbonation. Smooth sailing and one to convert non-beer drinkers. Great stuff.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bought from a local party store. A sour yeasty, with slight hint of hops smell. Flavor starts with an initial sour, almost bread like in character, then finishes with a malty, almost marzen flavor. Not a bad beer. Amber in color, not much head. Also, there were yeast particles floating around as well, with a layer of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Iím not much for amber ales, but this one is drinkable.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Banderaís, Chicago, IL. Cloudy amber ale having small diminishing white head. Sour smelling aroma, like an old bar. No discernable carbonation. Medium-bodied ale that starts and finishes with a sweet malt flavor with moderate hop bitterness. A good drinkable beer that went well with roasted chicken.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly above average amber from Bells. Pours out amber (how about that). Nose of malts, some pleasent hops, big caramel, touch of honey also. Flavor is similar, but quite sweet. Malts and caramel and toffee the big heads in this one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Not my most favorite amber. Beautiful color, not much head, great malty aroma. I found the hops to be a bit more on the bitter side than I like, overwhelming the maltiness that could have been.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Pailhead for this beer.
Poured an effervescent dark golden with a small fizzy off-white head which dissipated completely. Sweet malty aroma with a touch of zesty hops. Taste is sweeter than I expected from an amber, with a touch of lemon and just the slightest hop kick. Very smooth and drinkable... goes down easy. Great session brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice amber color, small head that faded slowly leaving little behind. The aroma was decent with a good malty side some hops and maybe a bit of caramel in there but hard to say.The flavor was much better then i was expecting with a good maltiness some roasty notes with some hints of nuttiness and hops and just a slight bitterness in the end.over all itís fairly pleasant and easy to drink but the price is getting a bit out of hand for a 6/pk at $9 Itís worth trying more often but at that price it will be awhile.
