COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A little brewers' magic transforms locally roasted Arabica beans and a variety of specialty malts into a creamy, intense coffee stout. Enjoy before it disappears. (from label)

Arabicadabra is brewed with a cold coffee extract made at the brewery using a combination of fair trade, organic Nicaraguan coffee beans and Sumatra coffee beans. Lactose is also used for creaminess (those with dairy allergies or sensitivities should take note). It was inspired by Milchkaffe, another specialty Bell's beer.

Bottle poured into an English pint. Jet black color and a thick tan head. Huge coffee aroma with some espresso and lots of chocolate to balance. Initial taste is iced coffee with cream...no sugar. Aftertaste is mild with mostly coffee hanging around. Palate is on the light side of medium. Low carbonation. I like this one. Sessionable and not out to be anything over the top.

Bottle. Pours deep reddish black, medium creamy brown head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is mocha, roast. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, mocha rich. Medium body. Good.

Bottle from Cost Plus. Pours black with ruby highlights. Roasted coffee nose with a tiny bit of sweetness. Bitter coffee up front. Tastes like a pure coffee stout with almost no sweetness. Kind of like watered down coffee.

Bottle. Dark pour with chestnut highlights. Thick dark head. Tons of roast with some fruity sweetness. Oatmeal notable with thick lactic notes. Creamy. Solid.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2018 On tap at World of Beer (Charlottesville, VA). Roasty coffee aromas, cocoa, burnt brownie. Black with a mostly lasting beige head. Dry, roasty coffee, dark chocolate, nutty. Medium-full bodied, creamy.

On tap at Ellyn's Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL., dispensed to a tulip displaying a black/brown hue, with a tan, frothy head as well as frothy, curtain-like cling to the lacing. The nose was dry & roasted, with mocha notes that leaned more toward the cold pressed coffee side, with an added touch of toffee. Medium+ bodied, with low carbonation, the taste was similar, with less creaminess than expected for a lactose enhanced Milk Stout, slight tannic tanginess, and roasted & earthy bitterness that offered a bit of smoke & char. Presentably robust.

Draft at the Surly Goat with Scarlett during LA layover trip 2018. Nose is incredible fresh coffee - spot on. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lots of rounded malt. Some noticeable carbonation throughout the palate with lots of sugar sneaking in.

chinchill (5451) - South Carolina, USA - FEB 4, 2018
12 oz bottle with a 17 October 2017 bottling date. Appearance: a fairly gentle pour raised a tall, dense, tan head. Essentially black, opaque body. Plenty of lacing was left on the glass. Coffee dominated aroma with hints of dark dried fruits. Good coffee aroma, but the coffee flavor is stronger than the aroma suggests. Excellent, mildly bitter, bitter-sweet balance. Fine coffee and dark bread aftertaste. Very smooth, full body with light carbonation.

A fantastic coffee stout. One of the best I've had. Beautiful black pour. Very creamy and rich roasty coffee flavours and aromas. Smooth, silky and delicious

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of very nice coffee. Med body, almost. Flavor is nice coffee with some dark malt and lactose. Earthy. Moderately bitter. Fairly dry. Nice.
