[ Trade by Bobby91w ]. Clear dark amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, wood - tobacco, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is syrupy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcohol.
An unclear brown beer with a yellow-orange head. The aroma is extremely hopped on a sweet malty background and with notes of alcohol and oranges. The flavor is great; very hoppy with strong notes of oranges, chocolate and alcohol running over the tongue. Thanks to Mads Berg for sharing this wonderful beer. joergen (29624) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 30, 2006

Cloudy dark brown beer, no real head. Aged malt nose, strong. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Aged malt and unsweet chocolate. Pinch of salt. A little sweet cream. Finishes soft and dry. Nicely flavoured and aged barleywine - really quite moorish.
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2004 Bottled, thanks hopsrus!
Cloudy copper colour with thick, creamy head. Fruity, vinous nose with notes of smoke and plums. Deeply malty. Salty licorice and hops builds up to a very bitter finish. Sticks out in a crowds of barley wines. Has developed a lot in the past 6 months.
Old rating (April 2004)Copper colour, small beige head. Vinous smokey ash aroma. Very rich and salty with notes of blood and metal, but hops, peppey alcohol and salty spices dominates. Extremely powerful, but also confusing and unusual. Still a bit raw, should probably have waited in the celalr for a while. (5/4/7/3/12)

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy, dark amber with a creamy, beige head. Vinous and very aromatic nose. Extremely full-bodied with notes of overripe fruit. Hoppy finish.
Leicht schokoladig, sehr leicht alkoholisch scharf. Danke an den Doppelbock für das Bier. /9/9/9/8/9

Dark amber to brown color. Malt aroma, mature; strong malty taste, and caramel; strong bitterness; everything is mixed well together; good powerful sample. mcberko (19869) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 8, 2014
12 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige / tan head. Nose brings out rich notes of caramel, dark fruits and some light oxidation - which is no surprise given the age of this thing. Flavour is rich and deep, with loads of caramel, dark dried fruits, brown sugar, and alcohol. Extremely well-balanced, without any cloying sweetness. This is very bold and decadent. Not really any oxidation on this at all - very surprising, given this is 10+ years old! This sure has stood the test of time. Wonderful stuff.
