12 oz bottle. Pours black with a little dark brown head. Dark roasted malt, coffee, liqourice and bourbon like aroma. Clear alcohol presence. Lovely blend of liqourice and chocolate in thick oily blend. Minor citric fruit note. Alcohol does shine through. Very strong bitterness. Very strong brew. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted whole coffee beans with this oily sensation you can find, but also with notes from the brewed coffee with a slight acidity. The flavor is sweet malty and again I find this oily sensation from well roasted coffee beans, combined with alcohol, leading to a dry roasted end. Nice one. joergen (27978) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2006
Black coloured with a beige head.
Roasted aroma of coffee and hops.
Very roasted flavour of coffee, liquorice, hops and grape fruits.
Long and dry roasted finish. anders37 (26156) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUL 22, 2010
Bottle. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty spicy chocolate arorma. Roasted malty chocolate and licorice flavor with some weak hoppy hints. Has a roasted malty licorice and chocolate finish. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 3, 2006
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Fat, vinous and very rich aroma of dried fruit and some alcohol. Very full-bodied with plenty of roasted malt, roasted and not really burned. Fruity and quite alcoholic with a malty bitter dry finish. A big beer indeed, to be enjoyed in very small quantities. 030606

Bottled. Very black, dark brown head. Spicy licorice aroma. Tastes like cask strength whiskey with loads of licorice added. Sweet with somewhat raw and inky mouthfeel. Plenty of tar. Lingering finish with enormuos licorice character. Powerful, but nowhere near balanced. madmitch76 (24360) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2012

Opaque black beer. Airy chocolate malt nose. Airy light palate. Rich soft dark malt with unsweet dark chocolate and a shot of espresso coffee bitterness. These flavours surrounded by the creamy smoothness and softness of the palate. There is a faint something fruity underneath, well buried. Finishes smooth and dry with minerals. Bitterish aftertaste. Good but falls short of the best.
Bottle courtesy of ryan - thank you sir! Nearly black, medium tan head, great lacing. Aroma of espresso that’s been left on the burner for too long, chocolate, prunes. Taste starts with sweet cocoa, progresses to bitter coffee, dates, raisins. Interesting and complex. cgarvieuk (24166) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 16, 2008

Thanks to one of my traders for this ... sorry i kept forgetting who ... WOW this is a Stout.!!!! ... Maybe a Stout crossed with a Barley Wine ... Saying that mmmm .... Deep black ... no head ... sweet caramalised toffee barley wine malt nose ... Sweet juicy deep and rich ... low carbonation ... medium to full body ... rich vineous fruits ... litttle spirit ... some deep roast malts ...little chocolate ... quite sweet.
-/11/11/11/10/11
