Bottle thanks to changeup45. Poured from the bottle into a tulip. Vigorous pour brought out all the malty aromas. Smells of licorice and booze. I can tell this will be an enjoyable sipper. I wish I could try a BA version as well. Little head dissipates immediately. Great boozy aroma right before the sip. Some coffee in the flavor but mostly sweet fig/raisin up front. This is a delicious beer and a treat to have tasted.

Courtesy richlikebeer. Pours col brown with aroma of molasses, dark fruit, and some roasted malt. Molasses sweetness with raisins, plums, and dark cherry flavor. A touch of sour. Outstanding! Beerhunter111 (20362) - PīCastle, GERMANY - JAN 20, 2017

Pours dark orange brown colour with a huge most good lasting tan head. Aroma of sweet dark malt, red fruits, cinnamon and wood. Taste of dark red fruits and malt, toffee, some liquorice, wood, some alcohol, quite interesting!
Many thanks to nimbleprop, my "Secret" Santa 2016 for this bottle. Intense dry roasty and slightly alcoholic nose. Deep intense beginning with roasted sweetish liquorice, sticky malt and not too sweetish, more dry, in the aftertaste. Round fruity - plums, dark cherries, great deep malt. Fascinating deep and smooth. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - OCT 3, 2016
very sweet, like an old ale or barleywine. nice but couldnt finish a bottle too hot for me. bnokk (528) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 20, 2016
Drinken in 2916. APPEARANCE-
super black, lighter head than itís inspiration (batch 7000). It looks very thin.
sweet boosiness!! Oh, sweet boozy beer.
FLAVOR- also sweeter than expected, and the booze is hidden well. Excellent balance of the sweetness and the boosy and roasty backbone stout.
NOTES- this one may be at its peak.

Dark brown color, but with a nice ruby umber color when held to the light. Taller, mildly diminishing khaki colored head. Aromas of dark fruit, caramel, bourbon balls and hints of sake. Aromas seem a bit disjointed. As it sets the scents seem to get a bit more vinous, and have a few port qualities. Sweet malt and vinous flavors from the start. Roasted malt, port wine, oaked sherry and sweet roasted nut all wander about in the flavors. Quite hot on the tongue. Cherry spirits come to mind with my last few sips. Half a bottle on a cold night by the fire, I think, is my limit with this one. Late in the finish I feel Iím sucking on an under attenuated pile of goo. Iím not sure this is going to age, but Iíll give it a try. 6/10 Re-rate soon!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with hardly any head. Aroma of alcohol, molasses, sweet malt, chocolate malt, raisin, dark fruits. Flavor of super sweet malt initially, followed by roasted malt and charred malt, licorice, creme brŻlťe. Sweet, syrupy, very thick. Not my favorite style of beer but I can appreciate its complexity.

Bottle from the rotter. Holy huge anise, molasses, tar, figs, freaking awesome nose. Deep brown in color, small light khaki head. Man this smells grate. Taste is lightly acidic at first, almost apple thing. On second sip it shows some more dried fruit, light tar, always a touch of sugar. Damn this is good. No sign of alcohol. stevoj (4966) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 14, 2015
Bottle share from Jake. Another well aged stout. Dancing on the border of sweetness, it comes off as a welcoming and warming, slightly syrupy brew. IndianaRed (4546) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 14, 2015
12oz bottle shared by Jake Black thin tan ring tons of caramel and chocolate sweetness some ABV heat at the end tasty and sweet
