12 oz bottle courtesy of Linus stick. Pours a cloudy murky chestnut brown with a small off-white head. The aroma is medium in strength with raisins and lightly roasted malts. The flavor shows some dates, plums and chocolate malts. The mouthfeel was a bit light. The finish was short and dry. Overall: A very session-able brew. Off taps at Capital Ale House. Dark amber brown with small fluffy white head. Slight roast and carmel malt aroma.

Pours lighter than other browns, but decent looking opaque ruddy brown with a thin halo of a cream colored head. The nose is sweet and kind of crystal malt like. This carries into the flavor along with an earthy grain like flavor. Decent dry finish.

12oz bottle, courtesy of Kyle. Thanks! Pours a dark, clear reddish-brown color; light-tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Basic dried fruits and brown sugar in the aroma; kind of bland. Medium mouthfeel: chewy brown sugar, toasted malts, and basic dried fruits; very drinkable, and lightly toasted (like me); pretty solid stuff, aside from the lax aroma. Bottle. Large, frothy, light brown head that stuck around for quite a while. Nice lacing. Slightly cloudy with some fine particulate. Heavy malt aroma, with some caramel, toastiness and nuttiness. Very light on the hops with almost no perceptible aroma. Flavor was high on the caramel and toasty flavors, with little hop flavor or bitterness. Just enough to keep the beer from being too sweet. UPDATED: NOV 21, 2011 Batch 107##, much better than that other rating I have =p, I really enjoy this brown ....... (7/9/09)#4 of 5 in my Brown Ale tasting. Batch 8871 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear glowing reddish brown with a frothy sticky off-white sudsy foam on top. I’ve had this a few times before. Aroma is a bit vegetal, buttery. Ahhh... has to be oatmeal, similar to the way Double Cream Stout ages. Flavor is a touch vegetal, bitter and nutty, fairly dry, light coffee. Medium body with excellent sharp but evenly spread carbonation. Need a fresher bottle. 188.8.131.52.11 I think?
