Whoa! This a like drinking a nice cigar. Very smokey and powerful. Strong malt presence and equal hoppiness. A different kind of brown ale, but not necessarlily a bad brown ale. dberger624 (1028) - Voorhees, New Jersey, USA - APR 27, 2003
Bottled. I tend to fing Browns kinda of boring. This one had a little more flavor going for it than you usual brown. Nothing fancy. Good drinkable beer. omhper (24959) - TyresŲ, SWEDEN - AUG 5, 2003
Bottled. Ruby colour, firm head. Aroma of crystal malt and grapefruit. Rather sweet. Chewy crystal malt flavour balanced by the bitterness added by flowery hops and a fair punch of warming alcohol. Pretty godd, but Kalamazoo does the really dark and heavy ones better. redlem (1306) - Ohio, USA - AUG 11, 2003
Ruby brown color with a small off-white head. Toffee, nutty, English hop aroma. Nutty taste with a dry finish.

Dark brown with small head. Mild brown ale, neither sweet nor bitter. Mostly malt flavors. jgb9348 (6187) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 3, 2003
Dark brown colour with ruby highlights and a dense large-bubbled light brown head. Aroma of malt, nuttiness and an odd-off scented cheesy aroma! Medium to Full-bodied; Strong nuttiness mixed with some spices combined with a large malt backbone. Aftertaste left spicey and a bit nutty. Overall, a decent beer-but i'm not one for this style! I got this twelve ounce bottle purchased by my mom from Merchant's in Dearborn, Michigan and sampled it on 21-November-2003. BŁckDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - DEC 18, 2003
Light amber brown color with a nice head that prevails over time and light stagnant lacing. Aroma is mainly hoppy, but slightly musky with a touch of malt in the end of the nose. Flavor is spicy with a light nutty malt presence, mainly hoppy in this brown though. Not quite to style, but you get the idea. Pours dark, cloudy brown with a big fluffy white head. Flavor is malts, toffee and nuts. Flavor is not as bold as it could have been. I would clasify this as a better newcastle. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - APR 2, 2004
Light brown with orange tint. Light head. Intersting tasting brown with a slight sour edge to the flavour.
