3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Growlers - Pours a dark amber color, tinted. Aroma is bready, sweet malts with dark fruit, plum. Pretty easy to drink, definite spice to it which distinguishes it from others of the style. Not bad.

Pretty standard affair here Johnson. It pours out tan, hazed . You know Johnson, itís got the caramel. Mouth is solid. I miss cool leen. Pretty nice Amber, just boring .. . . Some babies are cute, I hope yours is one of them. Respect.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nice body, not quite Amber in color but who cares? A vigorous pour yields a 1.5" off white cap. Aromas of pale malts, touch of biscuit and some sweetness. Flavor is similar but not as pronounced as the aroma, which isnít that assertive to start with.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber/dark gold pour, decent but quick head. Nose is malt with a hint of caramel. Bittersweet. Middle is mild cherries, sweet malt and a touch of bark. Finish is bittersweet and coats the tongue with a light oily sheen. Solid beer. One could drink a few of these.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From the bottle, this pours a cloudy amber-orange with lots of fresh lacing and a white foamy head that maintains a healthy proportionate size to the rest of the beer. Aroma is primarily caramel malt, but also has some fruity earthy hop notes, somewhat reminiscent of caramel apple. Flavor is a solid and sweet caramel maltiness, bready, with bitter vinuous and herbal earthy hops in the finish. Medium bodied palate with some overall tanginess and mildly sour bitterness, not all that smooth. Objectively I would say this is a good earthy amber ale, subjectively itís not a preferred example of the style for me. Similar to New Belgiumís Fat Tire, but with more caramel malt.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle. Cloudy, amber-ish dark golden colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish malty aroma, hints of caramel, peanut, fruity overtones, hints of red berries. Taste is moderately sweet malty, fruity, bitter hoppy counterweight, hints of caramel and red berries; lasting bitter finish.
