Growler at b3shine’s. Pours a darker copper with no head. Aroma is big on the bourbon with a ton of vanilla coming through. Tastes hefty and sweet with a bready, crackery presence. Sticky mouth feel. flatmatt (1627) - Northville, Michigan, USA - JUL 27, 2013
On tap at MBGSF 2013. Pours black with a light tan head. Aromas of soy sauce, cocoa dark malt, dark fruit, plus bourbon throughout. Flavors of "green" soy sauce, cocoa, raisin, light roasted coffee, with bourbon mixing well into it. Very much like the original Batch 9,000, but with more refinement with age. reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 30, 2013
Pours deep brown/black with no head. Aroma is mildly boozy with some brown sugar and mild vanilla. Flavor has nice brown sugar and bourbony vanilla...light oak and booze...hides abv fabulously...hint of dark fruit. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish warms with dark fruit/bourbon/brown sugar. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUN 3, 2013
(Growler, courtesy of jjfoodie) Pours a dark brown body with a spare tan head. Aroma of toasted coconut, bourbon, chocolate, and toffee. Flavor of bourbon, chocolate, soy sauce, toffee, anise star, fennel, and vanilla. Bestbrew1 (60) - Minnesota, USA - JUN 3, 2013
A year or two of age on this one would probably do it some good. One of the best barrel aged beers I’ve had. Despite the high ABV this beer is excellent. Nice and smooth through the last sip. The last sips boozieness is paired with a sweet like honey smack in the lips. Dark creamy chocolate mixed with some bourbon for the nose and sweetness on the tip of the tongue warms up as it reaches the back of the palate and booze that is mellowed out with sweet on the finish. Mmmmm mmmm good this one is awesome.

Bottle shared by John, thanks! Enjoyed along side a regular 9000. Pour is deep dark brown with some faint purple notes. Aroma and flavor are loaded with sweet malt and deep dark fruity notes. Also toffee notes, sweet molasses, and faint basement notes. The aroma of the BA version had slightly more vanilla notes, but the difference was not overwhelming for me. I’m fine with that as I love the original. neepsntatties (2076) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Bottle courtesy of "hannont". Colour...cloudy dark brown with a thin tan head. Nose...sweet, sugary, toffee like and redolent with sugared raisins and whisky soaked plums. Palate...lightly frothy, very oaky and quite tannic! There’s loads of booze here as is evident by the 14.8%. The fruit that predominates are dates, Italian prunes and black currants and then there’s some Turkish delight just to top it all off. What a boozy delight! Huge thanks to jjfoodie for sharing this growler. Very dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is full of bourbon notes, with a lot of maple, vanilla and chocolate coming through. The flavor is also very nice. I get a lot of whiskey character, as well as some maple, bourbon, chocolate and light vanilla. There is also some roasted malt thrown in. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation. HonusWagner (2250) - Florida, USA - MAY 21, 2013
At first I was all about this beer but it wears down quickly. Nose is rich and fruity w lots of booze. Not really a typical stout flavor profile more like a barley wine. Tough to drink a whole glass. mwbrady12 (469) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Strong aroma, dark appearance and complex taste with a near perfect warming mouthfeel.
