A year or two of age on this one would probably do it some good. One of the best barrel aged beers I’ve had. Despite the high ABV this beer is excellent. Nice and smooth through the last sip. The last sips boozieness is paired with a sweet like honey smack in the lips. Dark creamy chocolate mixed with some bourbon for the nose and sweetness on the tip of the tongue warms up as it reaches the back of the palate and booze that is mellowed out with sweet on the finish. Mmmmm mmmm good this one is awesome. koleminer20 (3599) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 3, 2013
On draft at Sidetrack. Oh. My. God. This pours black, with then slightest hint of red. Minimal head, no lace. The smell is heavy in licorice, vanilla, caramel, and bourbon. The taste is amazing. Very caramel and vanilla in the front end. Amazing complexity with the bourbon and caramel flavors. An inexplicably phenomenal beer.

S: WOW big and boozy, but not necessarily bourbon booze. Oak, strong licorice, big tart cherry, rich milk chocolate, vanilla and lots of alcohol :) very hot A: Dark dark dark dark brown with a thin instantly dissipating khaki head. T: Like a lush cherry dipped in chocolate fermented in bourbon. Very hot and complex. Bourbon sweetness and wood. P: Chewy, very chewy. Full bodied light carbonation. O: Just fantastic, wonderful, great thanksgiving desert

I had this at the same time as Black Note Stout and it also was really amazing. I’m glad I had the chance to have this delicious beer.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2013 Tap at Muddy Pig. Thick dark brown pour with a nice khaki head when poured into a tulip glass. Bourbon, wood, and vanilla all over this monster. Pretty hot. Fantastic beer! TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - NOV 10, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2013 Bottle shared by DalzAle, thanks Greg!! Pours black with no head. Very smooth pour with little carbonation. Aroma is raisins and malts. Great blend of flavors including bourbon (of course), raisins and brown sugar that tasted caramel like. Very good beer, thanks again Greg. Fobab 2012. Was really excited abotu this one, as I seemed to be in the minority of liking this one when it was fresh, so couldn;t wait to try it with a few years on it in some bourbon barrels. This poured a jet black color, like most bells stouts, really inviting with a tan head. Aroma was magnificant, lots of dark licorice, dark chocolate, medium roast and soft broubon and vanilla. Flavor was almost chewy, lots of fudge, light soy sauce, roasted barley, and charred oak with light whiskey notes. This one DID NOT disappoint, and Bells does it again with another great stout. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 4, 2013
Pours a big, bad black color, brown head. Great bourbony goodness! Lots of vanilla, toffee, chocolate, fudge, roasted malt, molasses. Sweet and thick. Really damn good!
