Had this after the bourbon barrel aged version. 2011 version. Eat this with fried goat cheese. I'm not kidding. Do it. Tart favor after a year. Less sweet.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2018 Black with one finger thick., brown head. Aroma of chocolate malt and cherries. Slightly sweet taste with some cherry sourness. Moderate, roasted bitterness. BeerdedDave (2005) - Beckley, USA - JAN 7, 2018
ruby black color; dark chocolate and cherry aroma; bitter chocolate and tart cherry dominate the flavor; medium bodied, roasted malt base; more tart cherry notes in the finish mmmbeer (1433) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 23, 2017
From 6'er at local liquor store served in a highball glass- poured a near black when held to a light source with shades of maroon, aroma of cherries and hardwoods- interesting. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt was roasted until it screamed to stop, and they kept roasting it still. Cherry, not very artificial, comes in the middle, finish is sticky and delightful. Bout time I had a damn beer. eruizgarcia (367) - - DEC 19, 2017
Strong cherry and smoke aroma, slightly bitter throughout. Very strong and fruity stout, fairly good, just a tad funky.

.Appearance: Black, slight ruby tint perhaps. Foamy brown head with great lacing.
.Aroma: Dark fruit, dark chocolate, roasted malt. Nothing really standing out.
.Taste: Roasted malt upfront with notes of chocolate and cherry. Delicious cherries, not sweet, tart. A very nice roasted bitterness balances out the beer. The finish is a nice dark chocolate taste, combined with a lingering tartness.
.Mouthfeel: Smooth, rich, full bodied. Easy drinking.
.Bottom Line: An excellent combination of flavors; you get chocolate malt, some roasted bitterness, and a nice long tart finish. Nice smooth, full body - easy to drink. The scent this beer gives off does not match the rest of the experience, but overall this is a good one. unclemike (3197) - Junction City Kansas, Kansas, USA - DEC 17, 2017
Dark as night with a brown head that quickly laced. Tastes of sour/tart cherries, ginger, brown sugar and roasted barley. Almost a sugary cherry/apple pie aroma. I found this to be well balanced with the fruit and stout elements complimenting each other well. BeerRenter76 (1055) - Texas, USA - DEC 8, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 Medium body, the cap is a thin tan ring. The sour cherries come out in the aroma not much from the stout itself. Flavor is all sour cherry upfront with some earthy and coffee flavors on the backside. MetalNHopHead (2275) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - NOV 28, 2017
Berry or cherry-infused Stouts are typically brews that I pass up, but I might have to cellar some of these. This Bell's Stout hits the perfect balance of malt and fruit. The cherry flavor is equal parts sweet and tart. The fruitiness is redolent of black cherry and other dark fruits. Malt character of cocoa and roast. This reminds me of some Michigan cherry coffees that I've tried, but fortunately, it lacks the medicinal chemical note. jandd1983 (4690) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - NOV 26, 2017
Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of chocolate, cherry and malts. The taste was similar to the aroma with more chocolate, cherries, malts and medium carbonation with a nice sweet aftertaste. Not bad.
