Draft, location not recorded. Deep opaque brown-black body, thin cream head. Spicy nose, lots of cinnamon, oak, and roast. Prominent cinnamon, barrel, and boozy warmth in the body, subduing the marshmallowy, chocolaty backdrop. Cosmo6644 (102) - Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2015
Aroma is cinnamon and bourbon, taste is very similar thick chocolate and malts, incredible

Smells is cinnamon, bourbon, and cream. Taste is pretty much the same. Starts off with the bourbon bite, then the cinnamon and cream take over. Full body with creamy mouthfeel. A bit of alcohol taste/bite, but not a whole lot. Medium carbonation with some foam. DesertDevil (699) - Arizona, USA - FEB 23, 2015
Draft (taster) at World of Beer in Tempe. Cinnamon (to no surprise) drives the nose, accompanied by heavy chocolate, whiskey, and sweet vanilla frosting. Pours dark brown with a filmy tan head. The first sip leads to an instant smorgasbord of flavors — tons of fresh cream, sharp booze, vanilla, oak, and roasted malt — all piled up on each other in a first-wave assault until a boatload of hot cinnamon washes the others away with a spiced flourish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. There’s certainly plenty of cinnamon, but the initial jumble of other flavors all competing at once knocks this beer down a peg. UPDATED: FEB 26, 2015 Draft. The darkest brown, completely opaque, with a thin fuzzy tan head. Nose is more like horchata than stout -- cinnamon, cream, tangy dark chocolate. Interestingly, the barrel is absent from the aroma, but no matter because it appears in the flavor full force, where the first impression is all semi-harsh whiskey and green oak. The swallow brings more pleasant stuff like cinnamon sugar, Mexican cocoa, vanilla, a very light touch of licorice. The whiskey is a little rough, but the underlying flavors are great.

Sample. Black with off white head. The cinnamon comes off big in the aroma and a little vanilla. Bourbon and cinnamon taste. Can definitely taste the alcohol on this one. Very interesting. tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - FEB 21, 2015
draft at tailspin. number one if you don’t like cinnamon you wont like this beer and if you don’t like whiskey aged beers you wont like this beer. but the aroma is deep roasted malts hints of whiskey barrel and cinnamon. never would have thought this could work but the balance is amazing. plus, its upfront on the flavor that cinnamon and whiskey barrel blend with the double cream stout is wonderful. damn shame on one keg and it was gone quickly. but I really liked the flavor of this one. arminjewell (9744) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 31, 2014
Pour on tap, dark black pour with caramel head, aroma brought notes of big cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger into nice roast, coffee, chocolate, some slight bourbon and oaky tones but it really is dominated by cinnamon. Taste is a mix of cinnamon, clove, toffee, molasses into some vanilla, bourbon, slight tannic note into sweet chocolate, some bitter roast and coffee, finishing fairly sweet, more spice comes through. Would be very good if the cinnamon was dialed back a bit. umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - NOV 11, 2014
Sampled at MBG Fall Festival. Dark brown pour with a very small head that fades to thin ring. Smells like a whiskey and coke mixed drink with cinnamon added. Tastes like whiskey, coke, vanilla, cinnamon and raisins. It’s good but it tastes closer to a mixed drink than a beer to me. jonhall (62) - - NOV 1, 2014
On tap at Seven Saints. Like a delicious adult root beer float perhaps, although with whiskey notes instead of root beer and cinnamon is prominent but not overpowering; it is tempered by the vanilla. Will have this again!
