On tap at the Eccentric Cafe on 4/28/06: Pours a slightly carbonated clear golden with thin legs. Sweet, lightly citric sour apple and clover honey aroma. Starts light, tart, and fruity with a good balance. Finishes pretty dry and slightly puckering, hiding the alcohol well. heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAY 23, 2005
A mead and cider mixture available at the brewery. The color was light gold with no head. The aroma was bright and fresh with Godlen Delcious apples and a hint of the earthy mead. There were also flowers. The taste was Sweet Tarts with some Granny Smith apples. The sour cider blows the mead away in taste. This also tastes of tart cherries and tobacco. This is ceratinly interesting, but could use a stronger mead character. goldtwins (4319) - Nesconset, New York, USA - MAY 5, 2006
Draft @ Bell’s Eccentric Cafe: Well it looks like I am in the minority here but I liked it. Clear and looks like apple juice but more syrupy. Legs run up the glass. Sweet aroma with nice floral notes. Apples and a big honey appearance. The honey was mostly in the aroma and not as much in the flavor (which works just fine with me). the flavor was of sweet and moderately tart apples. Some honey on the finish. It is like a floral hard cider. Terminus (3716) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 17, 2006
tap at brewery. pours pale yellow with no head, just what you would expect from the style. nose of lemons and ripe apples. flavors are tart sweet and lots of apple-almost becomes medicnal at times. flavors exhibit a plastic note as time goes on. light body for the ABV and medium carbonation. Its cool i got to try it, but thats all i will ever need.

On tap at Bells 20th Anniversary Party. Cloudy yellow body, thin off-white head. Aroma of apple cider and light honey, on the sweet side. Unfortunately, this was vinegary, sour, and thin. "Pissy apple cider" is one of the comments I wrote down that seems most appropriate. There is very little in the way of honey character. I didn’t detect too much of the alcohol, but perhaps a hint here or there would have cut through the weak apple juice/urine notes. Not recommended. ryan (3185) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - OCT 21, 2007
Tap at Eccentric Cafe. Mostly clear pale body with a tiny ring of bubbles for a head. The nose is sweet honey, tart apples, lightly medicinal yeast and light alcohol. The flavor is moderately sweet, pithy and just lightly tart with honey and green apples. Medium/full body is chewy with very light carbonation. Worth trying once. milewide (2315) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 9, 2007
Draft at Bells. Yellow color. More alcohol than expected. Aroma and taste were mostly sweet. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 1, 2007
agreed that this is more of a hard cider than a mead...translucent golden body with no head..aroma of green apple, vinegar, and a splash of honey..very acidic mouthfeel giving rise to a more hard cider element that that of a mead (strong apple...weak honey) frankenkitty (2014) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - JUN 23, 2007
Is this a cider or is this a mead? Whatever it is, my wife didn’t like it so I finished off the 3/4 pint she didn’t want. Served a clear, golden/amber under a wisp of a head. Apples overtook the aroma, both tart and sweet. Tasted very much like a cider as well, except without the acidity I’ve experienced elsewhere. I couldn’t get any honey notes off of it. Crisp, dry palate. As a cider, this was pretty darn good. As a mead, it pretty much sucks.
