Sampler pour on tap at the Eccentric Cafe (Kalamazoo, MI). Pours a richer dark amber pour, notes of copper, healthy haze and glow. Some darkness in the middle, gentle glow on the edges. A frothy offwhite head dies to a ring and laces small. Aromas are gentle banana, brown sugar, gentle toasting. Flaked wheat, dough, and crisp touches of fruit, banana and apple esters are mellow. A bit understated. Initial is a bit more vibrant, firm banana ester up front. A lighter body with some toastiness, dry elements into the middle. Gentle toast, dry earth, and some kisses of carmelization. Dry and less sweet, the banana hits a bit up front, tapering off into a dry finish. Gentle toast, flaked wheat, grainy. Some dry hops, lingering fruit elements, kiss of lemon, banana. Not bad, a bit light in body but a god smack up front falling back into a dry more drinkable brew into the finish. Simple yet enjoyable. Not the fuller more flavorful version thatíll win the Hedonist points, but solid, dry, and more drinkable over time. Tmoney99 (14372) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 20, 2012
Draft. Poured a hazy amber/copper color with a n average white fizzy head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate banana, clove, bubblegum and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Sample at Eccentric. Pour is a dingy brownish gold with a little head and aromas of cloves, bananas and some wheat. Flavor is thick with bubble gum, banana, clove, band aid and wheat dust. Great beer! wmubronco1992 (709) - Coldwater, Michigan, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Draft at Eccentric cafe on 9/22/12. Pours a medium yellow color with a white head. Huge aroma of bananas and cloves. Flavor of the same but very mild and kind of disappointing. No real depth to it. Had a dry finish. Drinkable, but not really memorable for a Bells beer. crossovert (12666) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 2, 2012
One of my least favorite bellís beers. It just isnít up to par with the style, it is light and fruity, not even in the league of Bavarian examples.

On tap at Bellís. Toasty malt along with the wheat. Not as yeast forward as the Exp Hop hefeweizen. Pretty dry. Some dark fruit and faint clove. coyotehunter (698) - , Michigan, USA - AUG 28, 2012
On tap at Bells 8/28/12. Taste and aroma are almost identical to me. Bananas and cloves with more bananas and cloves. Very tasty for the style. Finishes smooth and creamy. Big hearty head on it.
