Draft at the Eccentric Cafe, Kalamazoo. Murky orange-brown body, thin buff head. Nose of sticky fermented tropical fruits, like papaya infested by fruit flies. Bitter, catty body with fruit rind; tannic and toasty. Cloying after a few sips. NachlamSie (3572) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 29, 2012
Half pint at the Eccentric Cafe. Pours a cloudy amber with a white head. Definitely some hops going on in the aroma. It’s a little different: rosemary notes, a little grass and herbal bite. Body is medium-light. Lots of herbal bitterness in the flavor along with a touch of citrus and cantaloupe sweetness. I interpreted this to be an American pale ale upon tasting. Didn’t seem to have the intensity of an IPA. esjaygee (3906) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 26, 2012
On tap at Eccentric Café. Copper with a creamy tan head. Aroma of herbal and resinous hops, citrus, pine and sweet malt. Taste is weird and hoppy with pale malt, herbal hops, pine and finishes up with moderate bitterness. coyotehunter (698) - , Michigan, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Hard to believe this beer is this bad. It smells like I stepped in dogshit then tried to clean it with 409. Very soapy and herbal flavor. Once you get past the smell it’s not bad but not very good either. Fairly crisp palate but still unimpressed. Please don’t make this again Larry. bwa5879 (959) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 15, 2012
Pint poured at bells. Deep red with thin eggshell-colored head. Sweet, almost buttery aroma. Medium mouth feel, pretty carbonated. Hoppy and bitter. Has hits of cherry cough syrup.

On tap at Bell’s. red-amber with creamy beige head / Bright, earthy nose of pine, citrus, and bubblegum / Medium body, some sweetness, with good bitter finish / Flavors of bubblegum, pine, orange, grapefruit, and caramel, with an odd, stinky (hemp?) taste on the finish / Complex and interesting. UPDATED: MAR 23, 2012 Draft at Eccentric cafe. First time I years adding a new beer where it was a regular occurrence back in 2004-5. Took a guess at the APA style. Chalkboard said "5 hops" and but with its lower ABV can’t qualify as an IPA. Almost cask-like in its subtleties. Some hemp in the nose. Really nice soft, fruity hop flavor. This is the type of beer I’ve been looking for; a sessionable, flavorful, soft bitter beer. Wow. Murky yellow body adds both flavor and aesthetics. A really nice surprise to discover this.
