Brownish red in color with an off-white head, this interesting beer smells like... something. I really can’t put my finger on it. it’s familiar, but elusive. Grass... wicker? Ah! Rye. Dark, dark caramel controls the nose and the flavor is dominated by malts, although muted in definition, roasted, and slightly sweet. What an odd beer. Named, "EXP Hop" I would have assumed that hops would play some sort of showcasing role, but I really didn’t notice any hops playing any dominant role in this. What is noticeable (if you really try to look for them) is the presence of an earthy variety that’s well-blended with the grains. It actually reminds me of a bitter tire. Overall, it just seems much like a dark, roasted amber. The rye isn’t obvious, but it definitely helps define the beer’s characterisics. Unique! wmubronco1992 (709) - Coldwater, Michigan, USA - JUN 27, 2013
Draft at Eccentric cafe on 6/26/13. Pours amber with healthy long lived creamy off white head. Mild pine aroma. Taste is of mild bitter rye. Palate is medium. Dry mild bitter finish. Overall decent IPA. Drinkable, just a bit one dimensional. Could use something to balance out the rye. b3shine (9016) - Indiana, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Draft to taster at Eccentric Cafe. Looks solid; a transparent dark orange with sticky off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid too; mildly bitter hops with a bit of rye spice. Average on the palate. Decent beer. kaser (6364) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 31, 2013
Had this poured on draft at Bells tap room. Orange and clear pour with white head. Good floral taste, fruity and slightly bitter. Like it. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - MAY 29, 2013
On tap at the Bell’s Eccentric Cafe. Some pine and a bit of citrus. Moderate bitterness.

Strong aroma of pineapple. Flat and not that good flavor. Doesn’t blow my hair back. Copper color, dry aftertaste. Meh. MrBunn (2841) - The Wet Side of a Dry Town, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2013
On tap at Eccentric. Coppery color with nice carbonation and lovely aromas of fruit and floral hops with a little bit of a spice and rye coming through in the flavor. Nice and crisp, clean and yummy.
