March 11, 2017 - on tap at the Rare Beer Fest. Black pour with limited head. Aroma and taste of strong whiskey, wood, sweet and spice. I was excited to finally try this and was not disappointed. This was better than the 2016 Black Note they brought tried side by side.

Black pour with beige head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts, caramel and faint nuts. Taste of unsweetened chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, hops, subtle bourbon notes, slight oak and nuttiness. Full bodied, medium carbonation, perfectly balanced, a real treat to try!

Keg @ GTMW í16. Deep brown pour with a small, creamy tan head. Aroma is engaging, earthy and full of roast malt character. Cocoa and toasted nut. Earthy char. Caramel cake. Flavor is hot and sweet with moderately spicy finish. Chewy and viscous. Dark chocolate, vanilla coffee. Some brash, earthy hoppiness on the finish. A huge beer that ticks the right boxes. Solid.

On Draught,
Pours black with a big head and lots of lacing on the glass.

The aroma is nutters bro, lots of chocolate, some vanilla and caramel, big booze, big roast... Fairly restrained whiskey.

The flavor is big and roasty... Bitter like expedition... but also somehow sweeter. Itís got lots of chocolate & toffee, lots and lots of whiskey... Some almost cherry like stuff happening. Dark chocolate, alcohol, vanilla... sheeee-it!

Tap. Poured a black color with a moderate creamy brown head that diminished very slowly and produced sticky legs and fair lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate malt, vanilla and woody bourbon aroma. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy complex sweet stout flavor with a heavy smooth bourbon woody sweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.
