COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the earliest examples of the Russian Imperial Stout in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature and develop over the years. A huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, and other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages.
Available October-March.

Please start export this to Sweden, Bells. Pours a thick black with a oily brown head. Flavour is packed with dark chocolate along with some smooth coffee notes, a bit of caramel and a hint of red berries. Medium-strong but smooth roastiness that follows through from the first sip to long after you’ve finished the beer. There’s a very quick notion of chocolatey sweetness before the roasty bitterness takes over completely and builds up itself. There is no alcohol in the flavour whatsoever, only a very slight warming sensation which makes this beer very drinkable. I still took over an hour to finish a 12 oz bottle but only because I wanted the goodness to last for as long as possible. Just a notch above almost every imperial stout I’ve ever tried.

Bottle from de Fles Winkel. Very dark with Brown head. Smells like boozy chocolate raspberry and play doh. Chocolate, moderate bitterness, with some smooth sweetness.

[2015 Vintage] Pours deep deep brown. Looks totally black in the glass. Nicely lacing tan head. Aroma of caramelized malts, bitter coffee, dark chocolate. Warming alcoholic presence. Taste is sweet, roasty smooth cappuccino coffee, cocoa nibs, malts and medium to intense charred bitterness in the finish. Lovely balance between sweet and bitter. Warming. Oily mouthfeel, medium to full body, soft carbonation.

Had it next to the alesmith speedway which was a little better. This one has more heat and maybe oats. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dobre piwo, ale niczego nie urywa. Mocno wytrawne i kawowe. Ładna piana, fajnie gęste. Ale ot taki zwykły RIS.

355ml bottle @ Pudel. Poured pitch black with a thin brown head. Dark fruity, dark chocolate, ashy aroma, wood quite much. Flavor has dark chocolate, roasted malt, ash, tobacco, wood. Sweet finish, lingering long chocolate finish. Long warming finish. Slow sipper.

Tried on tap for the first time, lives up the the hype. Nothing in this beer is too dominate and every flavor blends well. A fantastic stout that almost seems too simple, but keep drinking and you'll keep finding more in this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaska. Svart med ett gulbeigt skum. Dofter av kaffe, choklad och lakrits. Smakinslag av kaffe, choklad, alkohol, aska och rostad malt. Oljig munkänsla, fyllig kropp.
