Draft at Eccentric Cafe.
Poured hazy amber color with a minimal frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate floral, yeast and pepper aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy spicy sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration.
Started soft and came on very strong. BeerandBlues2 (13210) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 17, 2010
Sampled at Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines. Pours clear light yellow with a low fizzy white head, somewhat lasting with no lacing. Aroma is medium bready and grainy malt with pepper and spicy, earthy hops and lemon notes. Medium malt flavor with some yeasty notes, black pepper and hops. Medium-light body, low carbonation with a slick finish. Not much of a sour ale. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 25, 2009
On tap at GTMW. Poured hazy medium golden with a short, well-retained cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet Bretty notes and foot-like funk along with hay and lighter fruits (apricot comes to mind).. spicy and interesting. Pale malts supported the flavor department, topped by a solid dose of bugs.. lemon zest, feet, and barnyard character were laced throughout.. tacky on the back-end, which impeded the refreshingness a bit.. still interesting. Very dry on the palate with moderate carbonation.. Brett really took hold here. egajdzis (6501) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 10, 2010
[Draft @ City Tap House] Murky golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of brett, wood, toast, and some sweeter toffee notes. Taste of brett, some wood, vanilla, and water. Bretty, with little malt or anything else. Skyview (5942) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Sampled on draught during Great Taste of Midwest 2009 in Madison, WI. Pours a hazy golden amber colored brew with a thick white head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of yeast, lemon zest, a hint of white bread and white pepper. Taste is tart, spicy with flavors of citrus, white bread, a hint of bret, peppercorn and ginger. Finish is tart with a some citrus and yeast aftertaste. It should keep the sourheads happy.

Tap at Bells City TAP House event PBW10. Pours a hazy golden with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma and flavor were both a bit light. Got some brett character out of it. The spices were kind of a weird mix. Not too great. callmemickey (4542) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 A: Orangish-wheat colored body. Not much in the way of a head. Just a light, white skim. A couple small clumps of lacing.
S: Quite a bit of prickly, funky brett. Light citric notes, bread, biscuits, pepper and yeast.
T: Like the nose, this is dominated by prickly brett notes. A bit of spice, wheat, grain and light lemon-orange citric notes. Fairly bland.
M: Light-medium bodied. Good carbonation levels. Lingering brett finish. Super-dry.
O: Easy to drink and fairly pleasant. I just couldnít find anything to really keep my interest here. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - SEP 7, 2009
Draft at the cafe. Golden pour with fluffy white head on the top. Smells very belgian and spicey. I get a bit of dust, musty fruit, and a little funk. Flavor is spice and funk threaded together. Kind of a dry finish. I would have preferred more sour and funk than spice. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 26, 2009
Draft at the cafe. This was an odd one. Poured a hazy gold with a nice fluff on top. Nose is very unique, very eastern with black pepper notes as well as cardamom. A touch of funky that shows up more in the taste, to dry things out. Taste is very well spiced with minimal hop notes. Very interesting and will have to try again. Nice. On tap at Eccentric Cafe. Pours a cloudy, golden orange body with a finger-width, white, slowly dissipating head that leaves a good amount of lacing. Very nice and unique aroma. Funk, citrus, lots of peppercorn, ginger, wild bret, and a light bread absolutely jump out at me. Lovely. Flavor has lots of peppercorn on top of everything else. I love the balance on this and the even mixture of all the flavors. Smooth, slow drying aftertaste with lots of lingering peppercorn, lightly tart citrus, funk, bread, sweet ginger, and bret. Medium to light bodied and very smooth before a touch of crispness finishes this off. Overall, easily my favorite beer on my trip to Bellís. Deep aromas and flavors with tons of personality. Tons of fun and a great experience. Shout out to Ceebs25 for enjoying this one with me.
