Canned version. A clear light amber. Off white head. Strong piney aromas. Lots of bitterness. Pine with citrus. Notable sweet backbone. Oily texture. MaltoseChalice13 (40) - Somerset, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 27, 2018
Not a fan of hypeslam. Sticky and sweet with hop bitterness. I just don't get the hype behind this beer. scanovajr (744) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - MAR 25, 2018
UPDATED: APR 1, 2018 A clear copper beer with a medium sized white head. Strong hop aroma, citrusy and piney. Taste is also very hoppy, tropical fruits with some caramel and honey to balance. Dry and hoppy spicy. An amazing beer mbgrayson (829) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - MAR 25, 2018
Twelve ounce can. Aroma of rich hops, with lots of depth. Taste very complex, notes of fruit, lots of hops, and a bit sweet. This was a very nice imperial IPA. Thumbs up! GlasgowTAD (2016) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - MAR 14, 2018
Can at Sparkys Roadside Barbecue, poured into a jar obviously. Pours amber with a pillowy white head. Aroma stanks of caramel with some minute floral notes. Taste is dominated by caramel sweetness with some oily hop notes. Would like to retry this fresh as the hops have severely diminished - but it drank nicely as a caramelly barleywine. Almost syrupy body

Can. I’ve had this a few times but never got around to rating. The flavor is full on hop bitterness and concentrated. The honey balances it out a wee bit. It leans more to the citrus side. Not very complex but it has a very good palate. The alcohol is noticeable. ryDawg69 (5) - - MAR 5, 2018 does not count
Overall, thought this beer was overrated. Being that the hop-slam comes out once a year, the wait truly isn’t worth it.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2018 Can, special delivery from MacBoost. Thanks, sexy beast. Almost clear deep amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, dried fruit, strawberries, caramel, apricot and marmalade. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium to high bitter with notes of citrus, tangerine, caramel, sweet fruit and light boost. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty competent old school IIPA, quite bitter without being astringent and the hops profile is quite nice. I feel like this is a beer I would've loved 5-7 years ago but right now it's not really my jam. There are so many good, hoppy beers these days, and malty IIPAs is not my preferred vessel for it. Though man, the smoothness of this makes it a nice delivery method for high boost. Alpha10 (914) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 28, 2018
2018/02/27 - Pours a clear orange copper colour with a thin, soapy, off white head that quickly reduces and leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is citrus (grapefruit, orange), tropical fruit (lychee and light pineapple), pine, apples and honey. Almost has cider notes. Taste is honey, pine, citrus and alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium and oily, with smooth carbonation and a dry, astringent, lightly boozy finish. Very enjoyable, but didn’t meet my expectation given the hype. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone mrjaxson (649) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 24, 2018
Aromas of oranges, grapefruit, pine resin and some hard-to-define spice all pour forth from the ever-so-attractive snifter of Hopslam. The body is silky smooth with the generous hop influence dancing around the edges but never overwhelming. The influence of the honey addition on the finish creates the most unexpected long, sweet conclusion to a double IPA I've ever encountered. Enjoyed on tap and genuinely spectacular.
