Appearanceís decent with loads of lace, fairly long lasting head, but a color thatís more red amber. Flavorís on the balanced side with plenty of malt to stand up to the bold hops. Great body and finish. Very drinkable for its strength.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aromas are a very nice balance of hops and malt. The hops are tropical fruits - orange, grapefruit and mango; also some floral notes. The malt provides caramel, toffee and a bit of molasses and nutty aromas.
Color is a fairly dark, attractive reddish-brown. Clear. Head is averaged size and off-white.
Bitterness is fairly moderate to strong; sweetness is moderate.
Medium bodied; alcoholic; just a bit lively carbonation; finish is long with both the fruity hops and the toffee malts.
Overall I like this beer quite a bit; both the malts and hops are fairly powerful and very nicely balanced. Fairly complex.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a red brown color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tart and rather bitter with notes of pine, citrus, a bit of malty and a touch boozy. The flavor was tangy and sweetish yet fairly bitter with pine, grapefruit, black pepper, honey, caramel and malt syrup with a boozy undertone. Medium length sweet piney finish. Moderately full bodied. Pleasant.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour on tap at Taps 25, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought big orange, grapefruit, dank, resinous notes with some slight pine, hints of caramel, but pretty hidden by the hops. Taste was a mix of resin, pine, grass, slight floral notes, some citrus notes with some slight caramel, toffee, finishing fairly bitter. Even with it being a bit malt forward it was balanced well.
