COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

Pours a black center with translucent brown edges; tiny head with minimal lacing. Chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malt aroma. Huge mouthfeel; tons of dark chocolate, tobacco, roasted quality, with a long bitter-chocolate finish. An excellent stout.

Thatíll hurt come winter. Pulling out a bottle, found in one of those odd (for a longtime NY/PA/DC resident) Detroit-area liquor stores, the scent coming off the glass is, uh, roasty but in a soy-ish direction. But golly, thatís a tasty beer. Some of the stouts Iíve recently run into have been overly carbonated, but this bottle doesnít seem to be afflicted by it. I donít know if I could drink this beer in session (and a six pack from which Iíll have to dole out at least two bottles doesnít present the opportunity), but Iím happy that I dropped $9.60 in an Ann Arbor liquor store (strange beast, that... but this comes from someone who goes to a state store often) for it.

This beer is much like the expediton stout but not as strong. My girlfriend actually preferred this one to the expidition stout. It has a strong taste of chocolate that only adds to the wondeful taste. I would suggest this one for any stout fans!

via trade with OhioDad - Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Light spotty lacing. Sweet coffee, chocolate aroma and flavor. Has a lingering roasted aftertaste. Medium to full body. Good beer. Thanks Scott.

Dark black pour with a reddish hue to the foamy tan head. Aroma is light on malt, there is a hint of some fruit, maybe cherries, although they arenít listed in the description. Very full bodied beer, roasted malts dominate the flavor, there are hints of coffee and molasses. The finish is slow, but clean. This is s a very good stout.

Poored thick and had a tan coolerd head that faded as i drank the beer. Had a roasted nut taste. A very good beer, but i prefer a smoother taste.

Pours black creamy tan head. Aroma roasty sweetness. Flavor creamy sweet roasty-ness with touches chocolate and molasses. Roasted flavor lasts with touches of hops present. Exellent stout but what do you expect from Bells.

Dark black appearance with brown head, creamy on top and fizzy on the sides. Diminishes but lasts throughout the beer. Strong roasted flavor with average to long aftertaste. Smooth from beginning to end. My choice over the expedition by Bells.

Pours thick and very dark with a moderate sized dark orange head - quite nice looking. Aroma has deep roasted malt with a molasses style thick sweetness. There is some char in there as well. Medium body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Malts are way in the front with a ton of roasted flavor. There is an herbal hint in there that reminds me of sasaphras and anise. There are some traces of coffee, dark chocolate and cream. The finish adds some wooden hoppy aspects. The taste of roast, wood and anise last in the mouth long after the beer is gone. A solid stout.
