COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

Bottle. Pours very dark with a smallish head that is brown. Head disappears failry quickly. Aromas of roasted malts, caramel and dark chocolate. Fairly complex flavors that are dominated by roasted malts and chocolate. there is bit of sweetness but the finish is on the bitter side. This Stout has a medium too light body without being watery, so it is easy to drink. Nice.

Very little head. Toasty, chocolatey and very drinkable. It was gone so quick, I had to have another.

12oz bottle from blue max liquors minneapolis: Quite a stout indeed, full of flavor but not overly aggressive or harsh like stouts can sometimes get. One of the few easily quaffable stouts I have had.. really great stuff.

bottle. Aroma: Big roasted malt, wood, caramel, hint of anise, and notes of coffee. Appearance: Dark, dark brown. Very small brown highlights. Head was medium tan and voluminous. Some head lingered to the bottom of the glass. Flavor: Again the roasted malt flavor dominates. Getting touches of coffee, molasses, vanilla, and woodiness. Noticeable smokiness as well. Not getting much hop flavor, and bitterness seems to be from the roasted malts. Palate: Medium bodied and creamy. Carbonation was good. Nice dry finish. A little astringency detected, as well. Overall: A good stout. Robust, rich in flavor, and drinkable.

On the Summer solstice, you get a second beer, a Stout! Aroma is woody with a touch of aromatic sweetness. Pours black, so black you canít see through the glass. Head is a tan brown that suggest really nice lacing. Choc-o-latey flavor with a slight bitter ending, and a syrupy mouth feel. Taste becomes more bittery as the glass drains away, yet remains bold all the way down.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2007 Bellís Kalamazoo stout is very nice. Pours a nice black color with a medium sized head. The aroma is nice, bittersweet chocolate and some caramel. The taste is smooth and full. It has a very thick mouthfeel, and the taste matches that. The flavors are of coffee and bittersweet chocolates.

Picture perfect stout... pitch black with a nice tan head. Very chocolatey aroma and taste. Goes down smooth but a bit watery.

In Panama, brought down from Cleveland. I paid 1.69 for the bottle. An amazing beer. Iíve only had one stout that I thought was better. Poured incredibly dark with a huge creamy head, the flavors were a medley of chocolate coffee, a slight taste of bitter and a bunch of other flavors wonderfully mixed. A couple of times it seemed a slight bit watery, but the complexity certainly over compensated for that. I wish I had more...I checked my rating for the Jasper stout, this was in fact equally good, if not better...the difference was in the creamy head, but that was likely manipulated by tap vs. bottle. I am going to go ahead and give this one a 4.5!!!!!!! We have a winner!!!!
