Bottle. Really, a very good straight forward stout. Very roasty, with a thin tan head. A classic stout that I would drink anytime. Very good.

Now this was some good stuff, split this with ross, Thanks man. Aged almost a full year and awesome. Pours a dark brown almost black with a small dark brown head. Tastes roasted and chocolatey like any good stout should didnít taste the caramel as much but its still great. This brewrey has never dissapointed me.

I usually prefer my stouts either sweet or imperial, but this is incredible. Well balanced with the malt up front, loads of flavors here, and while the body is light to medium it has a smooth oily feel that reminds me of Siberian Night. Really, itís pretty comparable to SN in terms of quality. Reasonably priced, too.

Bottle. Poured a good, thick brown with a hue of black. Good, dense, solid head that left a little lacing. Aromas of tar, pine, raisin, almond, molasses. Taste is very smooth with a hint of allspice that comes out on top. Very nice stout.

A session Stout if there ever was any. Creamy head that produces a nice lacing. Complex malt aroma focusing on a nice roasted flavour. Nicely balanced hop character that dances on your tongue after the first sip has passed. Very representative of the style for those new to the stout arena and are not quite ready for the immenseness that is the Expedition.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2007 Bottle. Good aroma of roasted malt and chocolate with a nice head to it sitting on a midnight black body. Very nice flavor. Slightly bitter with a touch of sweetness to it. Really smooth and well balanced. Very enjoyable. My go to stout.

Bellís Kalamazoo Stout
12 oz bottle
Packaged 03/06, partaken 10/06
Medium pour in an English pint.
Poured black with a rocky mostly lasting light brown head with excellent lacing.
Smelt of moderate mild chocolate, dry nuttiness, mild coffee.
Flavor was upfront strong coffee bitterness with light sweet creamy chocolate tones, followed by a strong nutty coffee bitterness with light chocolate accents, on a long bittersweet molasses finish. Mouthfeel was medium to full bodied, creamy and silky, with soft carbonation and slight astringency.
Overall, a very comfortable easy drinking, flowing, tasty stout, that could use some work on the aroma.

Bottle split with after4ever. Pours an opaque blackish brown with a light brown head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Creamy medium body with light carbonation. Taste brings the coffee and chocolate forward and adds a bit of malty molasses.Dry coffee and burnt toast finish with just a shade of pine.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2006 I would consider this more of a porter than a stout. It has a smoky aroma and a thik smoky nutty taste. It is a good beer, but is definitely on the lighter side of stouts, similar to an Obsidian. A good beer, but Iíll take the Expedition over this anytime.
