COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavor as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of black and caramel malts make this stout smooth, creamy, and utterly opaque.

I like this one quite well. Its black/brown with soapy lace. The head lasts the drink. The flavor is great. Its chocolate malt and medium bitterness. A perfectly balanced stout, if you like chocolate malt.

Bottled 11/30/17. Reviewed 1/22/18. Roasted malt, perhaps some coffee aroma. Slightly sweet smelling. Tall, tan-to-brown thick head that recedes very slowly with sticky lacing left behind. Nearly black with tinges of brown at the edges. Bitter initial taste, with the bitterness throughout the middle, finish and into the aftertaste. It is not overly bitter, but the bitterness is front and center, providing a good balance to the smooth malts forming the underlying body. Moderate mouth feel, becoming just a bit thin on the finish. Roasted coffee taste, with hints of chocolate, especially in the middle. The sweetness that was in the aroma is not evident at all in the taste. Dry and bitter finish. Classic American stout.

BlackHaddock (8097) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2018
12 oz bottle into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass on 12th Jan 2018 while on holiday in California. Lovely beer all round, dark brown with a fast fading beige head (the only down side). Malts and more malts in both the nose and taste, roasted and toasted, semi-sweet with a used leather sadddle twist flavour wise. Liked it.

Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from the Meijer in Michigan (drive home from Chicago) Consumed: from a pilsner glass Aroma: Smells malty and sweet with a hint of chocolate. Appearance : unfiltered dark brown with decent head that disappears within the first few sips. Very faint lacing. Taste: very well balanced. Malty, sweet with a hint of hops. Not overpowering like mosts stouts can be. Palate : medium body. Bittersweet aftertaste. Good carbonation. Overall: Such a well balanced and easy drinking beer. A lot of stouts are heavy and loaded with hops that are masked by heavy sweetness. This was about perfect. I was glad to try and will definatley buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

GreenCat (236) - SLOVENIA - DEC 24, 2017
0,33 l bottle. Pours dark brown with small dense dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is quite full, texture gentle and creamy, carbonation average. Finish is long, starts as chocolate and licorice, then roast bitterness and it ends as lingering coffee and chocolate.
