3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Poured almost black with a huge light brown rocky head that lasted throughout and had excellent lacing. The aroma was of burnt cereal malts, a leathery yeast with notes of molasses, chocolate and coffee. It tasted mildly bitter and acidic in the beginning and finished with a sweet/bitter coffee flavor that stayed with you for an average length of time. Mouthfeel was full in body and creamy in texture with a flat carbonation. Overall a pretty basic stout.
I've had this beer in bottle before and always enjoyed it, but for whatever reason never rated it. So, this rating comes from a tap pour at Olive Ridley's in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Pours nearly opaque black with ruby highlights; has a creamy light brown head and lacing. Aroma: coffee, chocolate, dark dried fruits. Flavor: espresso, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, oatmeal, figs, dates. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied, creamy finish. Very tasty. voyageurmike (510) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2017
Bottle from Acme. Opaque black full bodied, with roasted malt aroma. Taste improves as the beer warms, as licorice and chocolate notes emerge. Bittersweet finish. A well crafted stout! Chachy (16) - - NOV 18, 2017
Good stout with chocolate and molasses flavor. Is a great pairing, in prep for thanksgiving, with a pumpkin cake doughnut from Longs Bakery in Indy.

Bottle from Uba ja Humal. Black with beige head. Such lovely deep roasty brew with just a tiny hint of licorice. Dryish grainy on the palate, lightish, very soft carbonation. Excellent! jamaty (2258) - Madrid, SPAIN - NOV 11, 2017

Bottle from Rakuten awhile ago. Contrasting with the cola black of the porter this stout poured a beautiful makkuro inky black with an incredibly dark purplish-tan head. Not as strong an aroma as the Porter but then again I had it at a colder temperature. The aroma featured toasted oats, roastedness and chocolate. Full bodied but with a rougher mouthfeel than the Porter. I was expecting it to be smoother. The flavor is roasty, chocolate and oats. Makes for a solid stout though I believe I prefer the Porter much to my surprise though the stout looks better. rafael52 (1633) - Łódź, POLAND - NOV 2, 2017

Bottle, bought in Krakow, Poland for 20zl. Black color with medium nice looking brown head. Aroma: Coffee, chocolate, roasted almond. Taste: Coffe, nuts, light licorice, bitter ending with a dry roasted aftertaste. Thick watery mouthfeel. Lots of carbonation, a bit to much in my opinion.

Very nice stout. The beer is thick. Olive aroma, malty, hoppy. Very nice bitter taste. The palate is also bitter and very drinkable. beermastersasho (143) - - OCT 23, 2017
Nice stout, it is like an imperial stout. In comparison with De Molen's imperial stouts - it is almost the same. Bitter, roasted, malty, a little bit watery (it is not imp. stout), was good to take it with dark choco. Olive aroma, so interesting, coffee after taste, olive after taste. Saltiness. Little bit hoppy. Good beer.
