3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rating for "Lager of the Lakes"
Pours pale golden and clear with a white head lacking in longevity. Dusty herbals and Saaz aroma, grasses and bready yeast. Smooth with a tingle. Mild flavor... an easy-drinker with moderate bitterness and no adversities. If the price was right, Iíd buy this by the keg as an "every day" beer. Alas, no availability in Illinois.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: This one pours a light golden in color, with a quickly diminishing white head. It smells like baking bread. Taste is a little yeasty with a hint of hops. This is ok, but I canít get into it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2008 Pours golden with a fully receding white head. Aroma of bready lager yeast, firm maltiness, a bit of mustiness. Taste has a firm malty backbone with a fragrant balance of Saaz. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly resinous hoppiness. Well made lager, quite delicious.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very nice Pilsner. Not nearly as hoppy as many American pilsners, not as malty as many European. A great mix of the two. Very well done and enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz Lager of the Lakes batch 7726 - Aroma is full of lager funk, grasssy hops and pale malts. Pours transparent yellow with a small head and great lacing. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is creamy and smooth. A pretty tasty session brew.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light golden, cleassy and clear with a foamy white head that says "this is not a macro." Clean and pretty smooth. Grassy aromas and a hint of ginger along with some caramel malt give the aroma depth and complexity. Just as interesting on the palate, with a fading cereal finish, Saaz-y hops and a full, bread-and-buttery mouthfeel. A good pils.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear dull lemon-straw body with a sudsy white head. Modest aroma with lime and hay notes. Flavor is crisp, clean and semi-dry with nice doughy pils malt character. Light quenching tartness and mild bitterness. A solid lager (didnít strike me much like a pils).

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Not sure how this one has elluded me this long. Anyway, here goes. Sweet lager aroma with hints of allspice. Hazy yellow. Really, more yellow that gold. Thin, slightly off-white head. No lace. Nice color. Sparse vis carb. Dry. Has character. Ale qualities. Iím drinking this brew out of a Steam Whistle glass, and perhaps this is more power of suggestion than anything else, but reminds me a bit of Steam Whistle....actually, not really. Deserves its place at the higher end of the style percentile range, but a little too dry for me. A very solid pils nevertheless.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Golden/ straw colored beer with big fastly diminishing head. Aroma is... interesting...(sorry), apple, sweet malt, with a little noble hop aroma. Thin carbonated body. Slight sweetness with nice bitterness. Easy to drink and better than most of the macros.
