COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As refreshingly crisp as a morning swim in a Great Lake, this brew is crafted with Pils and Munich malts. The pronounced hop character of this golden lager sparks thoughts of sandy beaches and rocky islands.

It’s pretty hoppy for a pilsner. The aroma is earthy, kind of musty. It is very nice on a summer day if your in to hoppy beers.

Lager of the Lakes 12oz Batch 8008. Purchased today @ Chevy Chase Wine and Liquors in Washington DC. Pours yellowy with a pinky width bright white head. Nice pilsner nose. Taste is fresh with slight bitterness. Overall pretty tasty for the style, another good beer from Bells.

(Labeled as Lager of the Lakes): from a bottle: Smells and tastes like a macrobrew, only slightly better. This was my fourth in a series of Bells beers one night after Batch 8000, Two-Hearted Ale and Kalamazoo Stout. I am certain that this rating suffered because of that, but I don’t see this beer being all that good to start with.

12 oz bottle. Clear gold with a small white head. Grass and floral nose, a bit of bread. Body on the light side. Grassy, floral and grainy bread flavors. Not bad.

Very light, straw yellow color. Small head. Floral aroma, light but inviting. Highly carbinated, goes down smooth. This is a freshing pils.

Bottle. Clear light yellow with minimal head. Noticeable carbonation. Malty flavor with spicey hop finish. More creamy as opposed to crisp despite the light nature. Not bad.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2008 what a refreshment. maybe i should lay off the IPA’s for a bit, but that wouldn’t be fun. nice and crisp taste, just enough for what the bottle says it was for, a refresher after a dip in a Michigan Lake. barely any hops noticed, but you can taste them, which was great.

Huge cereal grain and sazz hop aroma hovering over the glass, reminded me of how good my first German Pilsner tasted while I was over there, hard to believe a beer this light colored with the Bells name on it,taste is full on cereal grain, with a tongue dancing Sazz hop in the finish, lots of flavor but yet only a light medium body. I dont understand the poor ratings for this. If its a warm day,and its your first brew of the afternoon, this is delicious
