3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at El Bait Shop. Great Beer! Rich gold with a medium white head. Amazing lacing. Pours crisp and clear with medium carbonation. Has a honey and candy aroma. Has an awesome rich thick flavor. Berries, sweetness, and lots of flavor hop bursts of citrus fruit rinds. Perhaps cherries even? WOW! Brief lemon aroma and maltiness. Seems like it has heavy amounts of honey, but I know better. Speaks volumes about this brewer when this is the standard-bearer beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a 12 oz. bottle purchased at Johnís in Iowa City. Labelled as Lager of the Lakes. A medium gold body is topped with a fluffy egg shell colored head. The aroma is boiled potatoes with some carrots and a little bit of grass. The taste has some light notes of spicy parsnips and potatoes. Nice and light. This is a decent light lager. The mouthfeel is soft and surprisingly full.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 oz bottled as Lager of the Lakes. Pours light gold. Sweet cereal grain maltiness on the nose. Has that euro-skunky pilsner flavor but not to the extreme. Decent for what it is... a session beer by Bells. Nothing fancy here.

12 oz Lager of the Lakes. Very yellow color with a good loose foamy head. Natural/earthy tasting with the slight grass flavor with the malt and spice.
A desent pilsener for once, instead of the Pale Lager those macros try to pawn off as as pilsener. Refreshing

Lager of the lakes,a feeble attempt to
duplicate a czech pils.Turn on the
foglights as visibility in this brew is
minimal.Icebergs are there with a
highly citrus taste.Another 800 years
and Bells will have pils to an art.Bells
has too many fine brews to bother with

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I had this under the "Lager of the Lakes" label. Itís a richer orange/yellow than most such beers, and there were some things I rather liked--the palate seemed creamy yet awake, and there was a moderately pleasant floral note, like heather or clove. It was drinkable with only a bit of a metallic note in the early-going. It was reasonably buttery, sweet, herbal. Not bad at all. The aroma was the weakest element.
