A very nice Pilsner. Not nearly as hoppy as many American pilsners, not as malty as many European. A great mix of the two. Very well done and enjoyable. MI2CA (1340) - Noblesville, Indiana, USA - MAY 15, 2007
12oz Lager of the Lakes batch 7726 - Aroma is full of lager funk, grasssy hops and pale malts. Pours transparent yellow with a small head and great lacing. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is creamy and smooth. A pretty tasty session brew. jefcon (1878) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAY 13, 2007
Light golden, cleassy and clear with a foamy white head that says "this is not a macro." Clean and pretty smooth. Grassy aromas and a hint of ginger along with some caramel malt give the aroma depth and complexity. Just as interesting on the palate, with a fading cereal finish, Saaz-y hops and a full, bread-and-buttery mouthfeel. A good pils. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2007
Bottle. Clear dull lemon-straw body with a sudsy white head. Modest aroma with lime and hay notes. Flavor is crisp, clean and semi-dry with nice doughy pils malt character. Light quenching tartness and mild bitterness. A solid lager (didn’t strike me much like a pils).

Bottle. Not sure how this one has elluded me this long. Anyway, here goes. Sweet lager aroma with hints of allspice. Hazy yellow. Really, more yellow that gold. Thin, slightly off-white head. No lace. Nice color. Sparse vis carb. Dry. Has character. Ale qualities. I’m drinking this brew out of a Steam Whistle glass, and perhaps this is more power of suggestion than anything else, but reminds me a bit of Steam Whistle....actually, not really. Deserves its place at the higher end of the style percentile range, but a little too dry for me. A very solid pils nevertheless.

Golden/ straw colored beer with big fastly diminishing head. Aroma is... interesting...(sorry), apple, sweet malt, with a little noble hop aroma. Thin carbonated body. Slight sweetness with nice bitterness. Easy to drink and better than most of the macros. mistersinalin (381) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - MAY 1, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2007 Perhaps it was allergy season or that just the mention of lakes was enough to set off my hay fever, but I couldn’t smell a damn thing after pouring this beer to a nice ¾ inch head – a head that headed south the minute it arrived. This pilsner doesn’t seem to have the traits of a Bell’s offering. Light on color and character, this disappointing beer may only be enjoyed when the temperature on the lake tips ninety. Or maybe I just got a bottle recovered from the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. TheBeerLover (1027) - DC Metro Area, USA - APR 19, 2007
12 oz bottle "Lager of the Lakes" label. Pours to a beautiful, bright, golden color, with a tall, white head that fades, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer is nice, with some good herbal and grassy hops, paired with some grainy, pale malt aromas. The palate is firm, with good pale and grainy malt flavor, on a very clean, round body. This beer finishes with more good crisp, pale and grainy malt flavor up front, then ends with some good herbal/grassy hop bitterness that balances. Very well done example of pilsner, that is very flavorful, yet dangerously drinkable. It could have used a touch more hop aromatics, but I found this beer to be very authentic, and impressive. Very food friendly, and a good session beer, you could pound this one by the liter. wheninhell (488) - chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2007
I was hoping for a lot more from bells. clear yellow disappearing white head. aroma.... light yellow lager aroma....corn with a light touch of hops. flavor is balanced but just not very good. sweet toasted almost bready notes with a good dose of bitter hops. bitter dry finish. light body lively....kinda fizzy carbonation. its just not very good. RCL (2030) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - APR 9, 2007
Good pilsner. Grassy and clean with as solid bitter backbone. Very well balanced.
