COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nicely balanced, Bellís Lager Beer focuses on the flavors developed in the brew house, matching a crisp bitterness & distinctive herbal hop aromas to a simple yet firm malt backbone. Following in the tradition of Bohemian-style pilsners, this beer spends a full six weeks maturing in the fermentation vessels. This extended conditioning period refines the overall flavor, highlighting the contributions of the malts & hops.

It is what it is. A pretty decent lager, but not too exciting. Keg was new, so very lively. Malts, pepper, bitter start to finish. Clean, crisp and simple.

A: The pour is a clear straw color with a short lived white head thatís about a finger and a half tall. S: Lots of toasted, almost burnt, grain and malt. Definitely some corn aroma, maybe a bit of grass and straw. Maybe a little bit of bread in there, too. T: Surprisingly bitter with a fair amount of pine, maybe a little bit of skunk. Corn, which provides some sweetness, and thereís a definite grainy character to it as well. Pretty simple flavor profile here. M: The body is light to medium with a moderate carbonation and a lingering bitterness and/or astringency. D: A pretty rare miss from Bells, at least in terms of their regular lineup.

Bottle as "Lager of the Lakes" from Vintage Cellar. Brassy gold color with a slight white head. Aroma is rather bready, and I don’t get hop. Thin to medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is bitter over some light pale malt. Somewhat grassy bitter with a little spice in the end. Good lager.
