On tap at Eccentric Café. Dark brown with ruby ground effects a tan foamy head. Aroma is interesting and fruity with citrus, coffee, mango and some Belgian yeast. Taste is tropical with dark malts, yeast, darker fruits and a touch of chocolate. A shade dry with a zippy yeasty finish. shrubber85 (11582) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Draft. Orange-caramel (creamsicle) malt and orange peel aroma. Dark brown with small head. Musty sweet orange malt and strongly bitter orange/lemon peel hops. Nice balance. Excellent. 574deadzone (1419) - North Central, Indiana, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Sampler at the Eccentric Cafe. Another homebrew contest winner, congratulations! Pours very dark brown with a thin khaki head that leaves some intricate lacing behind. Huge complex nose involving large clove spice, dashes of pine, and plenty of roasted barley. Mostly bitter flavor with touches of sweetness in there. Lighter side of medium bodied, active carb, spicy, with an almost piercing bitterness on the end. I wrote "pretty good Belgian hop coffee." That about sums it up. Overwhelmed everything else on my sampler board. b3shine (9079) - Indiana, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Draft to pilsner glass at the Eccentric Cafe. Looks good; black with off-white lacing. Smells solid; hops, dark may, and Belgian yeast with a hint of spices. Tastes like it smells with a nice Belgian mouthfeel. An enjoyable take on the style. Tmoney99 (14866) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Tap sample. Poured clear black color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted resin hop aroma. Medium to full body with a dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good complex beer.

Draft at the Eccentric Cafe. Deep ruddy, murky chocolate-brown body, thin tight beige head. Nose of pine, citrus, roast, and some fruity esters. Body starts sharp with lots of piny woodiness and bitter citrus peel, with spicy, fruity Belgian esters mingling with the aggressive hops, providing notes of pineapple and chewy fruits and sugars. Good beer, if a tad too much going on. bwa5879 (956) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Dark brown, perhaps black pour. A little light brown head that disappeared completely. Aroma of chocolate, maybe some sour malts too, too faint to tell. Medium body, average carbonation. Taste is mostly malt, lots of tart sour Belgian yeast, sharp cloves, soapy, bitter hops. Finish is carbony, pretty dry. WAY Belgian black ipa. coyotehunter (698) - , Michigan, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Generally not a huge black IPA fan, but damn. The aroma is phenomenal. Pine, grapefruit, tropical fruit.... You name it. Taste follows closely. The palate is almost dirty. Little heavy on the carbonation. Other than that a damn fine ale.
