Draft to taster. Looks Good; pitch black with thin lacing and little coronation. Smells good too; sweet, creamy, and malty. Tastes pretty good, but not as smooth as it smells. Mouthfeel is average. Good, not great. nimbleprop (8718) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - DEC 28, 2010
Sampled at Bells Stout night at Meridian Pint in Washington D.C. Pours an oily, opaque black with a thin, beige head. Nose is sweet, malty, sugary, light bread. Flavor was sweet, sugary, malty, chocolate. The lacto sugars are definitely present. Full bodied, sweet finish. Of all the variations of their stout, this was the most well rounded. Pint at the Eccentric Cafe on 3/30/13. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Malty and creamy nose with notes of chocolate and roast. Malty and chocolatey flavor with a touch of lactose sourness before a roasty finish. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 21, 2009
On tap at Eccentric Cafe. Poured deep brown with a well-retained cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolates and milky sugars on a succulent first impression.. touches of coffee and black patent beneath.. just what I needed! The flavor was sweet throughout with chocolate leading.. lactic sugars were laced throughout.. brownie-like finish.. bitterness was light and earthy. Sweet overall on the palate with perfect balance.. medium-bodied.. thankfully a long finish. Excellent stuff!!
