Nice roast, and milk chocolate nose, just a hint of smoke and a light fruit note. The taste is lightly sweet, lightly bitter with smooth and creamy chocolate, plenty of lactose sweetness, light roast and coffee, dark chocolate finish. Velvety texture. Lovely beer, perfectly done milk stout. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 21, 2009
On tap at Eccentric Cafe. Poured deep brown with a well-retained cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolates and milky sugars on a succulent first impression.. touches of coffee and black patent beneath.. just what I needed! The flavor was sweet throughout with chocolate leading.. lactic sugars were laced throughout.. brownie-like finish.. bitterness was light and earthy. Sweet overall on the palate with perfect balance.. medium-bodied.. thankfully a long finish. Excellent stuff!! Thorpe429 (5122) - , Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2011
Served in a pint glass at Meridian Pint’s Bell’s Night of Darkness.
Pours near black with a solid tan head with a good bit of lacing and a nice collar. The nose is a bit tame with a bit of roast and chocolate. I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt given the glassware and the fact that it got quite a bit better as it warmed up.
The flavor is quite nice and complex with a chocolate sweetness plus a touch of coffee. Nice roasted character and a bit of black licorice in the finish. The feel is ridiculously creamy and smooth with a nice chewiness. Awesome, awesome body. Almost certainly the best milk stout that I’ve ever had. I really hope they bottle this.

Sample at the brewpub. This Stout pours flat black with a medium light beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, mild hops and chocolate. Medium, creamy body with flavors of mild coffee, sweet malt and chocolate. The finish is roasty with a chocolate aftertaste. Solid all around.
